by donny intoday on my morning run i saw two sets of jw's going door to door on boston st. one set was two ladies and the other was two guys.
after i has passed them up on the sidewalk i turned around and began walking towards them.
the ladies turned to go up to another home just before i got to them but the guys were still approaching.

If the WT got started in the middle east instead of the USA...
by Stealth ini think it would not be much different than isis.
they would be happified to kill and cut off the heads of apostates.. when my jw parents would beat me, they would bring up that in the bible, jews could stone to death rebelious children.
i guess that was supposed to make me feel better about the beating.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I definitely can see the org declaring their own state like Isis. I think they would not be neutral politically, had Jehovah's Witnesses been founded in the middle east. Women would have a hard time- ya know that whole be in submission to your husbands. Forced baptisms- "get baptised or you'll lose Jehovah's provisions such as food. With no food you'll die, but it won't be considered murder. Sisters would have to wear a scarf all the time. Sisters will sit and listen to discourses in the library; the main hall is reserved for the brothers. Gas will be at a resonbable price but only if you use your jw.org discount card. Assuming that the WT owned oil lol I could go on...

I like SNRI antidepressants over SSRIs. From my experience Pros: weight loss, I have the energy to get out of bed, can actually get task done, decrease in anxiety.
Cons: It takes awhile for the medicine to kick in (a few weeks or a month), loss of appetite, nausea, can cause or increase suicidal ideation, in which case the doctor should be notified. Some can make you feel like a zombie with no emotions.

Positives is that I felt superior to worldly people. I also didn't have to work hard and achieve worldly success. I had friends as long as I attended meetings. If I missed two meetings they stopped talking to me, and when I returned I had my friends back. Also, the public speaking was a plus. Field service was good exercise. I learned how to memorize answers, that the holy spirit would later help me call to mind. I learned how to be persuasive and question false doctrine in all religions.

how is it that some fade out of the org and others seem to be pushed?
by sowhatnow ini cant figure out how some persons like my husband and son, simply got too 'busy' and gradually stopped going to meetings, and were totally left alone, and yet some persons.
seem to indicate that people were constantly in persuit of them, for a way to disfellowship them.. the ones who fade never get 'disfellowshiped' unless they write a letter formally requesting thier name be of the membership.. just like the jw org tells people who get baptised to do to thier former church,.
i havent been to a meeting in a few months however it is also under a 'remodel' im sure im not missed.

No you're not under any obligation to write a letter. I stopped going to meetings because I was physically fatigued. Things went from there.

Gen 2:17"...,for in the day you eat from it you will surely die"
by bobld intrue they ate, they died, but on the other hand if they never ate from it,they could(would ) of died anyways.. let me illustrate:on a store shelf there are many products.one of them has a label"poison" if eaten you will surely die.if a person consumes the poison he is one dead sob no question.on the other hand if he doesn't eat the poison he will eventually die anyways..

You could always say, " at least Jehovah will have less people to kill during Armageddon. It will usher in the new system faster. How does that make you feel?"
Jehovah's witnesses are emotionally driven people. Therefore, you must reach their emotions, because they aren't really into thinking. That's why the society publishes so many illustrations in their books and magazines. To Keep them child like. If you create an illustration while providing your counter argument it would be useful.

I would drink the LDS kool-aid. At least, I would be able and even encouraged to attend college. I would be allowed to vote, say merry Christmas and dress up during Halloween- as long as my costume isn't satanic. I'll be able to go to heaven and become like god, and eventually rule over my own planet. All I have to do is wear under garments, give up coffee, tea, sweets and have lots of children, pay dues and attend service. At least I'm guaranteed an afterlife in one of the levels of heaven. With Jehovah I'm either back on earth or still in the grave.

My then bible conductor told me not to read sites talking about jws. My conductor told me the best information that is true was on their former site watchtower.org I was skeptical because it sounded like my conductor was hiding something. So I googled Jehovah's witnesses. On Google, I saw a link to a forum post on here and clicked on it. Here I am
