There are so many great restaurants in NYC and part of the fun of living/working here is to try as many different ones as possible. I think one would have to live to be 200 years old to be able to try every single restaurant here because there are so many different ones and there are always new ones opening up. With that being said my personal favorites are Blue Water Grill, Union Square Cafe, Diva's, Candle 79, Bellini

Can anybody copy and paste or otherwise relay what exactly is the JW's reason for condemning mother's day? I know I heard it as a kid but I never really grasped or understood it. All I remember hearing is that we should honor our mother every day and should not pick a holiday to do it (or something like that)

I remember when I was a kid hearing about two JW's who went to see the movie The Exorcist. The movie started and they realized they were in way over their heads (too scarey, too demonic, etc.). They tried to get out of their seats to leave but they weren't able to. Demons were holding them down and not letting them leave their seats

If Jesus did return in 1914, wouldnt he have.........?

if jesus returned in 1914, i can understand he would be invisible to the rest of mankind so he can seperate the wheat from the chaff from thier genuine behaviour, but why is he also invisible to the congregation he is head of?.

he appeared to the original disciples before he went to heaven, now he has "returned", why hasnt he appeared to his faithfull and discreet slave?.

if he is directing his church on earth, shouldnt he at least appear to the president to give him some direction and to ensure "his" chosen congregation doesnt make any silly mistakes that would hamper the work?.

what if a powerful government were to hatch a plot to exterminate jehovah's witnesses as an organization?.

they ask this question at the bottom of page 23 of the july wt, and i thought the wording was kind of strange.

the target is not jws "the people" (as in nazi germany) but the org alone.

It's just not going to happen. This country was founded on freedom of religion. In addition, there are so many cults out there and none of them have been banned. The government isn't going to take down the JW religion. They have no interest in doing so.
