Sounds like you need to have a heart-to-heart talk with your wife. Tell her that you aren't trying to be selfish, it's just that family time is important to you, and maybe you and she could regulary schedule two or three days out of the week in which you can all be together for lunch. Perhaps you and your wife could also set up a "date night" once a week to help you reconnect. These aren't unreasonable requests; if she is sincere towards your marriage then she shouldn't have a problem with these things.

Theocratic Warfare?
by outsmartthesystem ini think my wife might be employing a bit of theocratic warfare on me.

Field Service Records
by God_Delusion inhi guys and gals,.
as it's been a good 3 years since i visited a kingdom hall, i was wondering if the keeping of hours still applies?
therefore, does anyone have a pdf of the report slip?.
-
JWOP
Shoot, sometimes it isn't even your own fiction! The last several months I was in, I refused to turn in the slips, so after a few months of non-submittal, the elders decided upon an appropriate number for me and submitted that! Eeesh!

District Convention Lunches... Invisibly present since... (1995)?
by darthfader inthanks to billy the x for connecting the "invisible lunch".... .
anyone remember when they quit providing lunch?
was it around the same time that the publications went to "complete donation bases"?.

I remember the tickets and the lines. Sometimes we'd volunteer to help with the concessions. I was disfellowshipped the first time in 1987, when I returned in 1993 they had already done away with the food service.

Gen.3;24 places the cherubim, and A flaming sword to guard, why?
by jam inok , why was it necessary for god to places a arm cherubim.
to guard the way to the tree of life?
adam and eve had.
-
JWOP
You're forgetting that there were TWO trees. Adam and Eve partook of the Tree of Knowledge, whereas the Cherubim were guarding the Tree of Life (which they had not yet partaken of). God was making darned sure that they DIDN'T partake of it, as the Scripture states.
Where is the proof that there were other people outside of the garden at this time?

Where was Jehovah for people before The WTS?
by mrbunyrabit ini was just wondering, since the wts claims its the only true religion, and channel to god, where was jehovah for the people before the wts?.
how did they get to know truths?
i know it was "prophesied" that the true religion will die down, and come back at the end of the system, but um.... where was god for the poor people who didnt have th wts?.

Why did Lazarus Pay for his sins twice?
by criticalwitness inaccording to j dub doc the wages sins pays is death meaning to them death covers your debt of sin when lazarus died did he not pay his debt?
so when jesus resctd him why did he die again?
when jesus brought him back did he creat or recreat an imperfect being on the sinful road to destruction?
-
JWOP
LORE SAID:
I asked the same question. Answer I got was that Lazarus paid for his sins with his death. But since Jesus hadn't died yet if Lazarus sinned again then he would become imperfect again. So Lazarus must have sinned after being ressurected and before Jesus died.Which just sounds like a stupid loophole Gods lawyers came up with after the fact.
SO I ASK:
Why does it sound like a stupid loophole? Why is it so far fetched to assume that Lazarus sinned again after his resurrection? -

Shunning ... when it's Convenient
by xelder ini have a lifelong buddy (g) who is now df'd ....doing great and happy.
he has a nice boat.
a while back he gets a call from a very well known elder who, of course, shuns him.. elder: "hi g. i know this is a little strange, but i don't know who else to call".

I'm all for taking the high road, so I applaud your buddy for helping when asked. I've done similar things myself: A few years ago I came into some money due to a car accident. I had been DF'd for nearly four years at the time. My brother, still a JW, emailed me out of the blue, pretty much groveling actually, asking if I could loan him some money for a car so he could get to work. I took the high road and GAVE him the money free and clear. He bought a decent used car and even showed it to me. As it happened, a couple of years later my own car broke down and I couldn't get to work, YIKES! My brother, remembering my kindness, actually drove me to work and back for the couple of weeks it took me to get another car.
I also gave another one of my brothers $1,000 to keep him out of jail for child support arrears (he had lost his job, his ex-wife was a troll about it).
AND.... I also filled my parent's stand-up freezer.
And then last year my elderly parents' furnace died in the middle of winter. Their landlord needed to wait for a part to come in to fix it. What did the Jehovah's Witnesses do? Gave them a coupla small space heaters. What did I do? Gave them both of our oil heaters that are designed to heat a room each.
In spite of my label as a dirty apostate, my family really can't say to much bad about me.
