  Watchtower Library Question

  i have never seen a watchtower library cd so this is a very basic question:.

  if you get a 2003 watchtower library cd, does it contain all publications from the 1970's or so, up to 2003?.

  then if you get the 2004 watchtower library cd, it will contain everything that the prior cd has, plus 1 years extra?.

  The versions of the CD-ROM are not simply additions of new publications. They also change 'old light' into 'new light' sometimes as well.

  For example, in a printed version of a 1980's magazine or book, you may find the phrase such as "Armageddon will occur within the 20th Century". Early CDs may contain this but later CDs may be changed to "Armageddon will happen soon" since it was clearly incorrect.

  It is simple changes, just a few words here and there. They don't change or remove huge articles as this would be too obvious to Witnesses using it.

  By changing little things, JWs think that it is an exact copy of what was originally printed and forget what was really in print.

  It never ceases to amaze me JW`s come to your door uninvited to tell you the "TRUTH " yet they can`t handle the "TRUTH" when somebody challenges them .

  we have the truth they say , but challenge them about what they say and what has been printed in their journals , and their is excuses, apologies etc.etc.

  to rationalise their current beleif.spin spin spin,they are, if not worse than politicians, then they are equally as bad.

  It might seem ironic but it can work wonders.

  The first time I ever wondered about the religion, I was about 5 or 6 years old. I was a born-in.

  A pioneer was forcing me to do the doors and a lady took the magazines off me (paid for back then) and came back with the money and some brochure or flyer from her religion. I have no idea what religion she was.

  The pioneer stepped in to stop me taking the item and the WatchTower and Awake were handed back.

  It was the first time I ever realised it was one-sided. Remember, I was only about 5 or 6 years old.

  i don't hear much about any new cases, does anyone know of any current litagation against the watchtower for gross incompetence?.

  There was a case in one of my old congregations recently. Elders had done nothing. The victim went to the police and the abuser put in prison.

  Newspapers printed the case, however no mention of JWs in there. I was told the elders "had worked very, very hard to keep the JW name out of the paper".

  I've never heard of anyone being planted either - they make use of people already there.

  I was working for a government department which involved dealing with foreigners in the country so we have names and addresses of people who didn't speak the local language. I was pressured over and over again by elders and COs to get these lists so they could be passed on to foreign language congregations. I never did.

  I've seen people who would rather talk to people on their phones/FaceBook/MSN than talk to the people they are with.

  Then, they complain when no one goes around to see them and they also don't get invited anywhere!

  Any advice on how to stop attending meetings without being hounded?

  it seems many are attending without wanting to be there at all.. what suggestions can we offer?.

  WTWizards suggestion of going to two halls worked for me, although I didn't plan it that way. I hadn't been to a meeting for over two years before some family found out I wasn't going anymore. And they were in one of those congregations!

  i've heard it said from the platform that "man can't rule himself".. satan challenged god's authority and god left man to rule himself.. unfortunately, god changed the rules and man now dies.

  so each generation or two* needs a new ruler with new rules.. it seems that either man dies or god is ruler in the mind of a jw.

  this isn't true - mathematically this creates four scenarios:.

  @FaithfulBrother: I am not saying there are flaws in the plan. I am simply showing that JW's often think in black and white (2 scenarios) when there may be more. I just hope you wouldn't really bury me! And if you did, you'd end up in prison until I was found!

  @blondie: I was referring to 'Man' since that is the word used from the 'old platform'. This word can mean "the species" and I'm sure you'll be glad to know that means women too!

  First Aid @ the D.C.s -- could direction from Society cause them a lawsuit?

  i posted about something similar 3 years ago when i first joined.

  even though my attendance hasn't been great the last year or so, i was asked to help my bro in law in first aid this year at the convention.

  to make a long story short, the society has printed instructions for attendants to not cal 911 for an emergency.

  One assembly I was at, a first aider called an ambulance that was sent from the hospital. There was an ambulance on standby at the venue that could have been used. That first aider got a stern talking to from both JWs and the medical staff!
