  as i'm having some serious differences with some friends about the born again attitude i would like to get some information on their origins, practices and what they actually believe help me somone please .

  Just come back to see if the topic had died after my post yesterday!

  You may have read the discussion I started on Out of body experiences. It was based on a program all about people who had experienced having one.

  One lady said that she had gone up out of her body, drawn to a white light. She could feel intense love and see people, some of them were family member that had passed away.

  She remembers talking to them, asking many questions, one question was which religion is the correct one!

  Jehovahs Witnesses was the reply. No sorry!

  She said that they all found this funny, and said religion does not matter!

  After coming out of the WT Borg, no sorry before coming out - I accepted Christ as my savior.

  To qualify what I said in my post - Going to a building filled with people is not the truth, come follow this way or that!

  Having a personnal relationship with God is. Though personnal failings on my part I have let this waiver lately. Even so I can confirm Jesus words "you will know (me) the truth and the truth will set you free"

  The Christian Message - inspired of fear?

  what do you thibnk of the christian message as compared to jw message, both are ruled by fear aren't they?

  if you don't love jehovah you will die at armageddon, if you don't love christ you won't go to heaven you'll go to hell.

  Don't go to any religion that says "We are the one true way" or words to that effect.

  After being a JW for 17 years, I now understand what being a Christian is and fear does not come into it.

  All though I try to be a Christ like person I fail every day. Unlike being a JW I do not feel condemed anymore, in so much as fearing God's anger for not doing enough (ministry, donating to the ww work etc).

  Nowisee said.... even if i am judged as evil and condemned that is totally right as my God is merciful and just and his decisions are unquestionable.

  This life is not all there is after death I am certain of that. The Bible says that ... God is Love. Just try to live your life and be the best person you possibly can.

  Many on this board have turned athiest - I can not condem them for that, being once part of a high control group can screw anyone up! ermm I mean, send a person in a totally differant direction.

  Just don't let JW's brand of religion or anybody elses put you off having faith in our Creator. Then in the end we all have to find our own path, everyone is differant.

  i'm a 25 yr old female that was in the "organization from birth until about 18. my mom was babtized; dad was an unbeliever.

  is there anyone else that can related to my background/situation that feels 100% meloncholocy and pessimistic about everything in this world?

  i feel like when i was growing up, i was taught that, basically, i could not be a part of society.

  can't wait for Halloween!

  my husband and i were discussing the thread about ripostes to jws who shun you in public...and we came up with a cool idea for halloween this year!

  first, find out if it is on a meeting night or if the local pizza hut will be hosting the annual jw hide-from-the-trick-or-treaters 'get together'.

  then dress up like a smurf, blue body paint and all, but maybe with an axe burried in your head and fake blood....and either go knock on the kingdom hall door during the meeting and say 'trick or treat!

  ARE YOU AFRAID OF DYING?

  as we were all told long ago, none of us would have to worry about getting old and dying in this system of things, because the new system was "right around the corner".

  as we all know, that corner was really a circle and the new system is always just out of reach.

  my father, a witness for the last 60 years, is terrrified of dying, seeing as he never thought he'd have to deal with it.
