well, i'm old as the hills today...........and for anyone wanting to know details, lets just say i'm over 21............. .
i'm leaving in about 20 minutes to go over to my horrible "apostate" friends house where they're giving me a (gasp!
) birthday partaaaaaaa!!!
Happy Birthday Mary!!
based upon your life and circumstances, were you easy prey for witnesses to get to you with their message?
were you going thru some trauma or bad times?
I suppose somewhat. My husbands father had died while we were studying at the time and later we had found literature in his house. but their really is no one to blame but ourselves in that we should of done our own research instead of them finding the answers for us.
proffesor Jeff S told us that while he was a publisher/MS, he would scan the obituaries looking for addresses to make a call.
for those who just up and left the wts, what was the one thing, if any, that made you think to yourself, allright, that is it, i am outa here!
!
For me it was when Dateline aired the pedophile issue, then reading Crisis of Conscience and how the Gov Body opperates along with the chapter on double standard. at first I thought that to keep things normal we could still go through the motions of meeting attendance and so on. but I couldn't stomach listening to them diss the Catholic church with their pedophile problem when theirs was just as huge if not worse. so it took me from May to Aug, missing meetings and coming up with excuses but I felt how could God approve of that organization so we wrote DA letters. now it seems like it's way in the past.
ok i think i made a mistake.
tomorrow is dedes birthday, and since i will not be here tomorrow i want to give her gift today and post it here.
well this is what happened.. i was talking to a buddy, and i told him, "i don't know what to get my wife for her birthday.
Happy Birthday Dede!!
ok so i'm on the phone talking to my friend, when i hear a knock so light i wasn't even sure if it was a knock.... (the doorbell, lighted, works just fine).. i open the door.
two attractive young ladies in their early 20s are standing there, don't even make eye contact.
one reaches into her bookbag and pulls out the lasts watchtower and asnake magazines and proceeds to ramble incoherently for the next 30 seconds.
you go girl!! most witnesses could use a little witness now and then.
what gets to me is when i hear a story that gets embellished .
it's worse when someone relates the story and i was the original teller of it....what about you?
WTS and the pedophile issue.
three other things are procrastinators, Insurance companies, and kids not buckled in the car.
when you were active, did you buy any lottery tickets?
i know a xjw who told me that he never stopped buying lottery tickets, even when he was active.
he always asked somebody else to go get them for him, so that he wouldn't be seen buying them.
I did play power ball on occasion, but always felt I had to look over my shoulder to see who was around. I felt there was little difference in playing verses the friends who invested thousands into the stock market and lost. my loss was only a dollar here and there. Now I play weekly.
hey everyone .
i'm doing a term paper on the flag salute case, mainly the court cases minersville v gobitis and west virginia v. barnette.
i'm looking for anyone who had a problem with saluting the flag when they were in school.
I agree with Kenneson, on that, one shouldn't be forced and that it should be up to the individual.
My sons as witnesses did not salute the flag and now that we are out they still choose not to salute as the word allegience means, devotion (to the flag), so too one nation under God is a bit narrow minded to me as he created the entire earth.

i was having my usual bible study on thursday, with an elder from our local kingdom hall.. we are about half way through the knowledge book.. when i brought up the u.n. scandal and the silent lambs thing he just walked right out my door.. i am left wondering if he will come next week or if i am disfellowshipped even before i am baptized?

they kind of remind me of little kids who when they don't know what to say they clam up. and no you won't be disfellowshipped if you are not baptized. just continue to arm yourself with knowledge if they return aka -- sharpen your sword.
