Is It OK For The "Visible Org" To Mak...

Hi Englishman
It irritates me when I see JWs reason like this, they truly have strained out the knat and swollowed the Camel.
The Watchtower rejects the whole of Christendom(and so preaches God will reject them also) because she has mistakenly confused Jesus with Jehovah and has made mistakes with bible interpretation such as "the Kingdom". In other words because Christendom does not percieve things as the Watchtower, this is a mistake punishable by death.
Basicly the Watchtower uses "two sets of weights". While it expects others to forgive her for mistakes, she breaths wrath against others who she percieves as making them.

I agree with you.
It is puzzling, when people who have once been part of organisation like the Watchtower, and have came to realise that it was only men speaking to them and not God.
Then why don't the alarm bells ring in their heads for the men who lived thousands of years ago and made similar claims? This simple truth evades them:.......
When a man claims a revelation from God, that God has actualy spoken to him, then OK. But if someone else accepts thats mans experience of divine communication, then that man trusts Not God but man!!! because it is from man that he has recieved it and not GOd!!!!

What makes one person an Atheist and another a Believer?
Intellegence?, educated people walk different paths in this regard.
Heart condition?
Environment? Look around the Earth today and people are religious according to their environment.
Does environment exert a stronger influence over us than intellegence then?
Is this why exchanges between us on this forum never seem to get anywhere.?
Any thoughts?

You wrote: “Granted, God is not at this time providing all the needs of all the people on earth. That is not proof that a loving God does not exist”
My original post was not about whether God exists or not, simply that the logic of what some Christ is purported to say is in error and reveals the God of the Bible to be an unloving uncaring entity. The Christian writers make statements about God’s goodness, yet reading about God’s actual dealings with mankind in the Bible, reveals him to be a no better than Satan, playing cruel games with people lives.
The existence of evil in the Earth does not of itself prove there is no God, but it does prove that the Bible’s depiction of a loving God, a sort of “Big dad in the sky” is rubbish. The Bible does not glorify that kind of God at all, and those of you who think by Apologising for it puts you somehow in a holy position are mistaken.
The Bible is all about man creating God in their own image

Like many of you Apologists, You attempt to make a round peg fit into a square hole and it don’t work. No matter how long your posts are and how hard you try to bang it in.
You illustration simply don’t fit!! For example: You would not give your daughter groceries and at the same time allow your other daughter to starve would you? What loving father would neglect giving his child something so basic as food?
Logical I think it would be more appropriate to thank the local farmers and supermarket than God. Did you not read ”Cursed be the ground” “In the sweat of your brow you will till the soil” What a loving father !!! man has food despite God not because of him
nytelecom1 Nice photo, is that you holding Fred?Running man When I was kid, my mother would attempt to make me eat all my dinner by saying “ think of all those poor starving children who have no food”. This sort of had the opposite effect on me, by thinking of all those poor starving kids some how did not make me feel any hungrier.

Subject: LOVE YOUR ENEMIES
Example: Matthew 5:45. "for God makes it rain upon the Righteous and the Unrighteous"
If you accept this reasoning above, then you must accept that the opposite is true also!
For if God is responsible for the Rain, logically he must be responsible for Drought.
If we are to credit God, for his impartiality in allowing the rain to fall on both kinds of people.
Then likewise, with whom do we ascribe Drought to? We must credit Drought to God also.Using this same logic from Jesus, it is quite easy to preach the very opposite of what he was saying.
Yet a true picture what we see around the World today. As follows: "If you see some one you care about in need, do nothing and prove yourselves sons of your father, who allows Drought, not only to fall upon the Unrighteous but the Righteous also"

Our Sins
by radar inwhy the ransom?.
when you think of all those suffering today and throughout the generations, and all this happened just because two inexperienced people went up against a powerful spirit creature and lost.!.
now, if someone is in jail, lets say for something like stealing, someone can perhaps pay for their release on bail.

You can't have it both ways.
You said : "The point I was making was that God made us free. Because He did, we can do what is wrong and often do. This makes us less righteous than God, because God cannot do wrong and so never does"
By your logic this means that god aint free! for he can do no wrong.
Regarding the rain thing see my post : The Logic of Christ.

Your reasoning is a bit muddled to say the least!
First off you say : “ Human beings have a sinful nature. A nature which God gave us.
Then later you say : “ For simply having a knowledge of evil corrupts free people and makes them unworthy of eternal life. And…then you say: even having evil thoughts for a brief fleeting moment makes people less righteous than God. Why is that? because the Bible tells us that "In God there is no darkness at all."
Now if you saying that God gave man a sinful nature, where did God get it from to give it Adam, if “there is no Darkness in him”?
If this is Gods plan as you suggest, then he must himself be responsible for evil.
You are in effect saying that God is responsible for the chaos in the world, and we should all be grateful to him for it. Because it will perfect our love, DUH!!This is like saying that a child should thank the man that raped his mother because without him doing the evil act the Child would not have been born and know love.
There is so much about your answer that is off mark. Xanda’s comments are more reasonable than yours.
Justin you seem to have a more balanced view regarding how the Ransom theory came to be.
Beck as you imply, the ransom theory (from apostle Paul) would not stand up in a court of law today.
Thanks for your input.Grumpy you said: “Why does Mcdonalds buy land in the desert?”
What a silly analogy you came up with here, so this is a silly answer: To feed the Nomads Mc Manna Sandwich’s. -

Why The Ransom?
When you think of all those suffering today and throughout the generations, and all this happened just because two inexperienced people went up against a powerful spirit creature and lost.!
Now, if someone is in jail, lets say for something like stealing, someone can perhaps pay for their release on bail. Yet if someone is convicted for a crime that carries the death penalty, no-one, repeat no-one, can pay for the release of that one, neither can they Swap places/ransom with that one because that would not be justice!
Adam's sin incurred death, as pronounced, so justice was met with Adams death.Yet God makes Adam’s offspring continue to pay the price with their own lives 6000yrs or so onward! So where is the justice and Mercy?
Why should God require people to repent over something they had no control over?If now mankind is deserving of death through sin, how can someone else pay it?
We are deserving of death! justice demands we pay for it, no one else can!.
Jesus ransom would be unjust and therefore is useless, But If we are not deserving of death then why the ransom and why death?
