  Can you openly express doubts in the congregation these days?

  i know of a lovely old sister who has been a jw for several decades now who openly expresses doubts about jw interpretations.. she does it in such a lovely way and everyone loves her.

  she is such a sweet old soul, makes everyone happy around her.. she has said things like- even if we have got it wrong about this and that i still believe the bible is gods word”.

  she answers up regularly and she goes on ministry groups but like most of us she is definitely jwlite, we don’t really do door to door work anymore.

  Oh Elena, the answer to your question, is NO. Emphatically No.. you will be marked and the elders will pay a shepherding call to see if you believe the GB are spirit empowered by Jehovah and if this is the true religion.

  I would think rather than being loud or confrontational about the changes, she opts for the loving, smiling type of individual who "whispers" the wrongs and changes of this organization so that slyly she lands those doubts on receptive ears, maybe opening them to the wrongness of what is going on. PIMO no doubt. She probably raises a question about a situation, then comes back with the "Jehovah will handle it murmur." I know I do. Say you do not understand, Shrug your shoulders and have a cookie.

  i put 18 solar panels on my house but only get a small rebate $50 a quarter.

  For all the hype about go more electric, Western Canada is receiving so much cold from the polar vortex, the grid can't handle to drain so they are asking people to cut back on usage! Cut Back? Some provinces are sending electricity to help with the problem. If this type of weather continues, people will be worrying about living , so many homeless in the streets even if warming areas set up.

  Heat exchangers do not work in temps below -15, they need electricity or wood or gas to survive.

  Now add ev's to this equation, the powers that be should have upgraded power supplies years before this great idea hatched.

  Is Jesus God?

  but, jesus arguably claimed to be god.

  scripture says he's the creator.

  I always ask, what is the importance of sitting at the right? In scripture, many times are we told that God said to Jesus "sit at my right hand", or He is sitting at God's right hand- a seat of major importance and trust

  -Mark 12:36/Luke 20:42/Acts 2:34/Acts 7:55/Romans 8:34/Heb 1:13/Heb 10:12/ Heb 12:2/ 1Peter 3:22/Rev 5:7

  In Ps 110:1 -"LORD said to my Lord"- I was always under the impression that all caps meant the senior, while the junior was one cap with remaining small letters.

  Heb 1: 5,6- says - "You are my son, I have become your father" and the Father brought that Firstborn to the inhabited earth.

  IN Isaiah 9:6, Jesus is referred to as the Mighty God, Prince of Peace . Rev 1:8 shows Jehovah, Elohim, El, and more names is the ALmighty God. Many more times in scripture is the "Almighty" shown.

  are any or all of the gb from jewish descent?.

  why are they so fascinated with following ancient jewish 'principles' ?.

  isa 43:10, 44:8 ' you are my witnesses ' which they based their religious identity on, jehovah's witnesses, yet those verses address the jews, not christians, which they profess to be.. jesus said in ac 1:8 'you will be witnesses of me ', .

  This organization today is not the one has no bearing on what you learned before. In 2023 alone, more changes took place enough to spin you around. Take a deep dive into everything since 1996 that changed within org.

  My parents did not really shun me when I left but I am now breaking their hearts…

  if they have shunned me and chase me out of the house when i leave the cult, i would not give a damn.

  i can still feel their love and concern for me even now.. though i have moved out voluntarily when i joined the army, i am afraid that the life i am living now will break their hearts.

  i am now a bartender in a bar and am cohabiting with a woman.

  Looking at your avatar and your name, I would assume you are asian living in an asian country where your tight family relationship means everything and mom is all. South Korean has a mandated 2 year service for all males and JW's can work in an office or somewhere the army can put you without the use of firearms? Therefore, mom would approve but living with someone not your mate, would be a huge issue. Your parents permission is law in your culture and you will perhaps lose them, culture is a hard thing to overcome, let alone being a JW.

  JW-God's channel of communication

  the faithful slave is considered god's channel of communication.

  ( though not inspired of god ) does anyone else find the use of the word channel interesting in this regard?

  The old green bible - I think it was- Editorial stated that Westcott and Hort revised version was used as well they were noted in the Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures. Were they not members of The Ghost Society? This, they said was to investigate the appearance of ghosts. In the day, they were quite an issue? Westcott and Hort were evolutionists who denied the Genesis account of creation.

  Westcott denied the reality of Heaven. He wrote in his commentary of John 1:18, "The 'bosom of the Father' (like heaven) is a state and not a place."

  So with these two profound statements indications are that God is not using the current org. as a channel since they allowed WH versions to be included in their bible for years but they have since dropped them because it's not in the silver sword. That was only built on previous translations from the society. I guess that was a new light they received from the holy spirit they dropped from "the father, the son and ____(Jehovahs organization)" in Matt 28:19

  JW profit from disasters

  some time back i questioned about jw making money from doing relief work for disasters.

  i found this story on reddit and also noted some of the replies.

  it makes me wonder how many would have left their own jobs and paid their way, giving free labor and some supplying free materials if they had know what was going on behind the scenes.

  Does anyone know that the homeowners are approached first with a NDA in that they will sign off on the insurance if the brothers do the job? They - the org -are not likely to let that go. After all, once it is done, the homeowner could change their mind and keep the money and have a new house to boot.
