In another article back then, women are compared to cows that tease the bull into mating with them when she's ready to concieve.
This article has the same attitude towards women.
They are less attractive and farther from perfection than what they were ment to be,
They are dangerous tricky creatures and cause men to sin and thus die.

It's so frustrating to see the Catholics plasterd all over the news when we have spent the last year tring to expose the JW's for the same thing!
I am especially irritated about it right now because my mom called a couple of days ago and hatefully said that the fact that the Catholics are in the news and the JWs aren't "prooves that we have nothing on them!"
I told her not to talk so fast or be so sure of herself.
I also corrected her and said that the JWs have been in the news and on the radio many times over this very thing ,it just hasn't hit National news yet.
She wanted to know why?
I said "because the JWs are very insignificant in the World view compared to the Catholic church.
She yelled "that is not true"!!!!!
All this makes me very tired!!

what an interesting group here!
i have a question to toss out to those of you who were once active jw's that are now born again.. i was a "zealous" jw - raised as one and was an aux pioneer, etc.
my whole family is jw's (elders, etc.).
I believe there is no true religion on this earth.
Any religion that claims to have a monopoly on truth is really a cult.
If you just have to have religion in your life look at it for what it can give you, a sense of belonging,companionship an organized way to perform community and volenteer work.
But religion can't buy you salvation or approval from God.
Personally, I'd rather live a good life and accompolish these things through groups outside of religion.
I feel safer and so much happier.
Just my opinions.

The scripture in Revelation (chap7 I think) that mentions the 144,000 the one that the Jws use for this teaching is a good place to start.
If you look at that chapter you will see that the witnesses take the first four verses of the chapter and say it is completly literal.
Then they go on to say that the rest of the chapter is symbolic only.
They have no right to take such liberties with what they claim to be God's word.
That chapter is either completly literal or completly symbolic!
Edited because I forgot to mention that most people come to the conclusion that this chapter is symbolic when reading the context of the Greek scriptures.

i thought about posting this topic earlier today and decided not to.. but after reading little-lamb-on-a-hill i thought, what the heck?.
yesterday, my eight year old son had some minor surgery, nothing serious, very minor, but you know how the doctors tell you how even minor surgery can take a serious turn.
well, i started to imagine all the things that could go wrong and of course thought of the blood issue.
