  hey non_trias_theos, protector of all that's holy, please explain why the watchtower 'slept' with the 'wild beast' united nations for almost ten years and continues to lie about it even now.. watchtower is lying about u.n. involvement.

  Hey Cyrano,

  where can i find documentation of the statement made by the wts regarding their involvement in the un?

  my mother was 22 yrs ago for taking up smoking again during a trying time for her and she still believes it is the truth, sometimes i thind shes just hoping she'll die before armageddon so she'll have chance of a resurrection.

  i plan to present her with this information when the time is right but obviously i need valid, irrefutable proof, if i just said 'hey mom guess what i heard' she would close her mind againdt it and later the proof might not matter

  hope you or someone can help me out with this, i'd like to have the info ready for the right time

  this would seem to be a very poor time to be defending religions like the jws against the clear evidence that they don't handle molestation incidents in any way that could be considered moral or responsible.

  If someone went in there to proselytize in the "guise" of a relief worker they were doing no different than the jehovahs witnesses were . . . and excuse me people it sounds like your all saying the witnesses didn't do any real work . . . ? . . . can you show evidence of that because I haven't SEEN any??

  I'm getting a little tired of insinuations as well as flat out statements that witnesses are any worse than other religions, there just isn't any evidence to that effect.

  searched a bit for dragonfly pictures for you and I found the following quote in the folklore section of a dragonflies of India site.

  "Here there is a saying that 'you shouldn't force dragonflies to take stones' that means that one mustn't insist the kids do more work than what they can."

  Coincidence?

  The application of that saying is very apparent for both your sisters AND you, you were all forced to bear more than you ever should have, don't let it continue . . . remember the boy that you were, remind them of the girls that they were . . . and release whatever stones of guilt or shame you still bear. They were never yours to carry.

  It was very obvious Hyghlander, that you wrote of a reality because your words took one there . . . after I read the page set to question you I did however have to reevaluate. That was a very quick and simple 2 second process, the truth is always apparent and easily known, the truth can never be discredited except in the mind of someone who chooses to do so.

  Although evidence wasn't necessary I think, for anyone not set to believe a lie for whatever reasons, I'm glad you put forth the evidence anyway.

  This time Joseph you are not a frail, helpless, defenseless, little child . . . this time you had the tools and opportunity to defend your honor and the honor of your sisters.

  I send you all much love and hope your beautiful sisters are doing well.

  I read the whole thing (unbelievably), this is some of the first of their publication I have read since I was a witness. I did take notes in expectation of analyzing and discrediting their logic in this post however I have neither the time nor the inclination right now.

  Suffice to say the logic is woefully lacking, apallingly so . . . they start with a premise that is beyond weak and the argument goes downhill from there, only someone already indoctrinated, bluffed, and bullied out of the capacity for critical thinking would swallow it (no pun intended).

  I can only hope that if I had not been raised as a witness I wouldn't have been blind or ignorant enough to believe it, it's really just too weak for words. I am almost embarrassed for them, and I am seriously not being catty or rude.

  I am a little curious too, why the sudden inundation of information about possible terrorist acts? Did you hear the one which suggested they were renting aparments to load up with explosives?

  What worries me more than the possibility of 'small' random acts of terrorism is what might happen in response to such . . . I DO NOT WANT TO LIVE IN A POLICE STATE! I also think the weapons grade uranium sitting around in some of the poorly guarded reactor facilities around the world is a serious concern.

  Why suddenly the great increase in warnings and speculation on attacks? Is the government aware that something will happen soon and are they just making sure we are amply cautioned so it doesn't come 'out of the blue', which would take a little of the heat off them?

  I am concerned and always observant, however I have felt for sometime now that we are pretty much doomed as a species anyway if we don't rid ourselves of greed and fear and accept responsibility for our individual souls, not leaving that to some church or belief system from without the individual.
  This would naturally bring about acknowledgement of our responsibility to each other, as well as the planet, and bring with it awareness of the indivisibility of all things.

  Barring that we'll go out however, and whenever we as a community spirit choose, judging from the indications it won't be too far in the future. If you have any doubts about the seriousness and severity of our effects on the planet do a little research (check out the satellite footage of the disintegration of the Larsen B ice shelf this April for instance) and when your done with that and telling yourself the scientists predictions of another 50 years or so of 'normalcy' check out 'the butterfly effect' and the general theories of chaos. I have done the research and what I have learned is the shit could hit the fan anytime people, serious global shit.

  You don't need to feel helpless or afraid, JUST LOOK INTO YOURSELF FOR THE ANSWER, you won't find it without.

  Demons and Seances....What do you think?

  Dear Violet,

  In my own experience I have to echo gsx's opinion . . . since leaving christianity none of my spiritual experiences or revelations have been negative, much less malevolent.

  I was just commenting the other day in fact that the only demonic encounters I had heard of were from people that believed in demons (christians etc.)

  Hylander said something to the effect that encounters people attributed to demons were in fact misinterpreted encounters with ghosts. My opinion is along the same bent but I actually do not believe in ghosts or demons, I look at it pretty vaguely.

  I think we are too quick to assign characteristics and personalities to things we don't understand. Yes I believe there is great and mysterious power in the universe and I think we can access it, however I think it is neither 'good' nor 'bad' until manifested through the filter of our personal belief system.

  In short I say believe what you want, just know that what you believe is likely what you'll get . . . so make it a good thing.

  i must say that as a neutral scientific observer of this site--it seems that things are kind of one-sided here.

  i thought this was a board with both devout jws and ex-jws on it.

  on further reflection it appears that this medium of communication should probably be called ex-jw.com.

  Hi Eu, welcome to the board. Although I disagree with you on a number of points I believe your argument is not without some validity. One of your quotes however did disturb me;

  They claim that their views are true and by default not false. Anyone making such claims bears a fairly weighty onus.

  My husband and I were at the zoo yesterday and a female chimpanzee that was in oestrus and she was bearing a decidedly weighty onus . . . it wasn't a pleasant sight. I hope this is something we can avoid, you don't think theres any real reason for concern do you?
