  i just had a question.....a rant is intertwined as well (sorry) .

  when i was in the jw's, i noticed so many "new one'z" and "interested one'z" who were nicely dressed people.

  many were fairly well-groomed, the women & girls with nice stylish fashion taste.

  especially as a teen.

  i have 2 cousins (different states, different congs) who got caught fornicatin' and had to appear before the elders.

  i don't post here much, but i hope this makes some sense.... my aunt (my mom's sister) was born & raised a jw, though grandma's always been one of the more "lax" jws.

  (more tolerant, much less fanatical than are my mom and dad).

  though the "jw way" was very anti-college then, she took advantage of further education, got a great-paying job, and is now quite wealthy.. she is married to an "asshole" type jw--who likes to spy and get others in trouble, gets joy out of shunning df's...that type.

  Afghan girl from National Geographic cover found

  .....does anyone remember the "girl with the green eyes" on that national geographic cover (taken in 1984)?

  they've found and identified her, after 17 years.

  i thought it was pretty interesting, anyway.

  does anyone remember a little cartoon in the 1970's, in which the main character was a egg-like crystal(?

  ) creature named ludwig?

  when it came on, ludwig would fly into the scene with a little propeller, to the tune of a little violin musical ditty (beethoven, i assume).

  just a funny memory...... my sister and i, once we reached pre-teen, were highly critical of almost all the congregation members.

  we'd get home and mercilessly mock and make fun of elders, kids, you name it.

  hello all--new to board; my story

  hello everyone...hope all are having a great holiday season.. ***warning--kind of long***.

  i am 31 and have been "out" for an undetermined # of years...probably starting as soon as i moved out of the house at age 23. i just "drifted away".. i was born into the jw faith.

  my parents remain devout and "zealous" to this day.
