  ok here is the real mystery:

  how is it possible that otherwise normal people can believe this bullshit? an average 6 year old will laugh in your face if you tell him that is a literal story and here you have grown people who adjust their lives after this nonsense? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??? don't they have the slightest sense of reality and reasoning???

  now that i can't see....just a thought, jws never use eclipses as evidence of the end times, but volcanoes and other natural occurences are fair game, some science is ok, but not too much....just a little spiritual junk food for today, who is going to volunteer and answer?

  science deals with what can be observed, directly or indirectly.

  so in one sense, you could say that science is simply not providing any answers to the question about the existence of a soul or spirit component of a human being.. .

  that, of course, keeps science polite to religious ideas.. .

  the following is a message from another jw forum i visited:.

  i came across a scripture (genesis 15:16) which says that god's people would return "in the fourth generation".

  true, it doesn't say where in the fourth generation but as they were to be in egypt for 430 years then if they return in the fourth we're looking at generations being divided up into approx.

  LOL that is very true! however i have the impression they unfortunately gave up on precise predictions. no more king of the north nonsense, no more armageddon dates...really sad that...makes the whole thing less fun.
