i remember many years ago we had one of those post-district-assembly review parts (part of the service meeting) where they were discussing some "new light".. there was some confusion about which was the "new" and which was the "old" and a semi-discussion ensued with people commenting.

In the mid 90's they said the generation was a general group of people. Now they have gotten more specific again, saying it is those who were alive in 1914, or those who had known those alive in 1914, the overlap. This isn't quite reverting to the older belief so much, but it is taking something literally, then making it more symbolic, then taking it literally again but in a twisted way. Who can keep up!!

all those scriptures in the bible telling us to avoid 'philosophy and empty deception' 'strange teachings' etc....can't help thinking that doesn't leave much room for studying WITNESS publications!!

Hrm, Marvin maybe they were concerned you were somehow going to contest the document and make it more difficult for them to protect children by causing legal issues. Did they know you were not a witness?

That document is intriguing. I wish it was in place in every hospital worldwide.

I agree, Simon! Except, anyone who puts themselves out there, admits something, leaves themselves vulnerable...that's a brave thing and it was tacky to unlike his post, if the unlike was intentional.

I've accidentally pushed wrong and disliked someone's post before, meant to 'like' it, but the mistake can't be undone. It wasn't me this time but someone may have done the same thing.

im quite jealous of porn, myself. Actually I wouldn't mind looking at it WITH my mate, I think it would be fun. Efforts to do this with him have been rebuked. but I felt very bad when I discovered he had without me...especially when I discovered he had searched out a certain race of woman and it was a repeated thing. It's actually given me serious issues :(. I know it's vain and stupid but I can't help it.

We had the hanging on to a cliff with one hand illustration. You wouldn't want to let go with any of your five fingers, you need them all to survive...

and then there was the ping pong balls in a glass, and then you pour beans all around to show if you put the big 'important' things in life first, (all five meetings) all the other little cares of life (like...family....and work...!) will fit nicely.

wife and i have not reported a single hour of fs in 3-4 months.

while my wife is mostly doing for me (positive thing), i know she would have rather done it.

elder asked me to turn in my fs report this past week and then he added... "we need to talk".

it is so easy to be sarcastic and snarky, but what you need to do is show humility WITHOUT giving them any information that could hurt yourself.
