Some will be understanding, too. They aren't all bad...at least they weren't all bad in mine!. The real issue is that you feel stuck doing something you don't really believe in. It's not good for you. -

I feel bad for you and remember what that sort of pressure feels like. All I can say is, maybe you should say something like 'maybe I'm not cut out for a leadership role in the congregation.' It will be embarrassing to be removed and your wife will be bitter but maybe it's time. -

My Bible Study Is Wide Awake To The TTATT
by James Jack ini ran into my old bible study at the kingdom hall recently, he was baptized as a jw 8 years ago.
we started talking about small things and catching up about our families and then the bombshell.. "my wife and i are deeply troubled by the watchtower change of doctrine, prophecy, and their history"!
"did you know about charles russell and his failed marriage... his view of pyramids... generation mistakes... and dates... that place in california for returning prophets..."and on and on he went.. i told him i knew all about it and then show him a publication on display in the foyer (i think it is divine plan of the ages), and it had a fold out of a pyramid and a description on bible verses that showed 1914 was the year the big a was going to happen.

I hope you recommended to him that he go around to everyone in the hall and bring up the same exact discussion. Elders last!
Eek I just realized you said he's already baptized...OK maybe not the best suggestion. Am excited to read the rest of your story!

Half banana, the religion is definitely 'losing its grip' but unfortunately it is definitely not 'loosing its grip.'
An English teacher once taught me how to remember one 'o' or two. In 007 there are a lot of 'loose' women. (Double o 7)

I'm very happy for you. I hope you have been making friends outside the org. I'm glad your parents are speaking to you. Show them how happy and interesting someone who leaves the JW's can be. Go make something of yourself. Maybe you will be an inspiration for others. -

A New Words With Friends Player Just Told Me That She Was a Jehovah's Witness And That's Why She's So Smart!
by minimus ini saw she went under the handle of lovejahforever.....she said she is very smart and had cleaning jobs and was going in the ministry this morning.. when she told me she looked forward to beating me (she won the first game) she sid she was smart because she's a jehovah's witness.
my response was we will see how smart she is.. what next?

I bet she's counting her time while playing, and that's always her line. Heck, her username is witnessing by itself, right? :P
Yep tell her you were an elder but you left because of (the reasons). If you're in hiding be careful tho, esp if your name isn't an alias.

NEW PEW Research data on Jehovah's Witnesses just released
by Balaamsass2 ini was expecting people who "identified" as jws to follow watchtower beliefs more closely than these pollsters report.. .

The question was not just for Jehovah's witnesses but for people of all religions. Jehovah's witnesses who like to say their 'truth is so simple' actually have very complicated beliefs and it's not easy to get at what they believe through a general questionnaire.
Old hippie, I don't know if you're a practicing witness or not but you're definitely not neutral :).

What's interesting to me is the number of witnesses willing to answer the 'ideological spectrum' question but not the 'political views' question. It's very witness if them...obey (pay minute attention to) the letter of the law, not the overall purpose of the law. Maybe they didn't realize having an 'ideological spectrum' viewpoint is NOT staying 'neutral'. I like that they were willing to say it, I would have done it too as a witness...I just think it's funny.
Regarding the 'heaven' question, there was probably some confusion, did the question mean you think you're going to heaven when you die, or that heaven exists?

Trump or Contested Convention?
by Coded Logic infor those of us who are hillary and bernie fans, which is the better outcome - to have donald trump as the republican's nomination whose unpopular with most americans?
or are we better off watching the chaos of a contested convention and the party eventually putting up someone weak like john kasic or jeb bush?
-
FayeDunaway
This convention is going to be fun. News making, for once. For journalists it won't be just the same old grind again, they're actually looking forward to it.
As as I said before, barring a muslim extremist domestic terrorist attack, Democrats win. So this 'who is going to the the Republican candidate??' thing probably doesn't matter that much. Trump fans will be livid if the Republican party ignores them tho...it will make them do crazy things.
