  What percentage of the population are gay?

  during the long debate on the question of gay marriage, there have been many competing answers to the question of, "how many people are gay?".

  a very anti-gay christian minister in sydney, the reverend fred nile, (who is also a member of the state parliament) claims that the percentage is as low as 1%.. some university (u.of new south wales) research in sydney has suggested 5%, but the authors of the study cautioned that there was a problem in the fact that an unknown number of respondents would likely not admit to being gay.. there are other problems in asking the question.

  for example, what does being gay mean?

  having endured three days of dashing attempts at further indoctrination, i feel the need to write up some of the stuff i left with.

  it is just good therapy.. right away the change was noticeable in the air.

  the assembly hall in la feria, tx still smells like new.

  Lieu, you sound like me! I was so excited after my friend told me she saw them at smart & final, but I searched and she was mistaken :(. Dang! They were so good. Some years I was all about the apple, some years all about the cheese. Sometimes you could sneak eating some during the program too. Esp during the drama! Take the Danish out of the plastic during music or applause, eat it in the dark :).

  im seriously craving one of those Danishes. It's been how many years? 15? 20?

  It seems important to specify 'gay' as meaning those EXCLUSIVELY attracted to the other sex. I believe the 5 to 10 percent is probably accurate. But people who may be bisexual or slightly lean bisexual are much much more plentiful, especially women who are attracted primarily to men but also to their own sex.

  My trip to the landfill

  it was with great pleasure and with mrs hosers blessing that i took all of our bound volumes and other obsolete jehovah's witness books to the local landfill.

  i threw them into the garbage pile and watched as a crawler tractor drove over them to pack them down.

  We recycled all our bound volumes. Ripped the covers off first tho, to make it easier for the recycling company. A good thing about the new no hardcovers policy is it makes them super easy to just toss in the recycling :).

  We have a few of the old nwt, tho, including the old green one. Also kept a new songbook and the old mustard colored songbook (wow, why that color, of all colors. And you had to look at it twice a week).

  I wish I had a pink songbook, I always liked that one.

  pissed off my wife today at the assembly..I asked her why the bozo GB member lett has a pinky ring.

  so at the assembly to day that nitwit lett gave a talk....i noticed right away he had a pinky ring.

  i asked my wife what was the purpose of the pinky ring?

  and then asked....would jesus wear a pinky?

  Agreed. It's lovely either postage stamp size or full size but looks quite different each way, and seems symbolic too of the changes of time.

  Songs celebrating leaving the faith? Not being a puppet, mind controlled, living life, etc etc

  i am looking for some songs that are in ref to celebrating leaving, seeing the light, realizing what you were told wasnt right, being happy w your life, etc etc.

  all those emotions about being controlled and repressed, being told what you can feel or think or how to live, blindly following the "brotherhood ".

  I don't know why it is, but put evangelical religious leaders in front of lights and camera enough and they start wearing gaudy jewelry. Witnesses are no different apparently.

  Going thru the emotions is releasing some tension, he doesn't want to be there. I really like Pete Zahuts suggestions tho. Nice! Things can be said more delicately to get their own brains thinking. Make them mad and you've just accomplished making them mad.

  a sister came by my house today.

  not to see how i was or why i have not been to meetings for the past months - she needed to borrow some money for the upcoming convention.

  we chatted a little, and i cound not keep my mouth shut about some questions i have and some discoveries i made about the doctrine.

  Pb, I'm sorry for the anxiety you must feel about this. But you have no family in the religion, at least. And if anyone is your real friend, they will still be your friend after. If indeed this amounts to anything. Since you haven't been to meetings maybe they will leave you alone. It depends on the personalities of the elders, and how much this woman makes an issue of what you said.

  What Would Happen if the Watchtower Loses Their TAX EXEMPT STATUS?

  would it really affect them?

  how would it affect volunteers at any construction project since that work would now be taxable.

  any materials they buy would be taxable.

  They would say 'as we foretold from accurate interpretation of Bible prophesy, government is turning on religion!!!' (And they would leave out the part about themselves not being an actual charity after the investigation)
