need help for a dissasociation letter!

please help me write a dissasociation letter to the elders and whoever else i need to let know, that i dont want to be involved or recognized as a jw.

tonight was the last straw for me, thought fading away was the answer but making a formal stand is necessary at this point... dont respond if youve only heard of the process, i have no more patience for wishywash answers, i need real comment by real ex jws and ill know right away if your the real deal.

i appreciate any responses to my request...

BluesBro - If you really want to do it, and I wonder what tangible benefit it brings?, a simple two line letter saying that you no longer wish to be a Jehovah's Witness is sufficient and saves all time and trauma composing a longer letter.

This is so true, BluesBro. we took about a week to compose our letter, and I can well imagine that the PO did speed read it !

If we could turn back the time, we would probably just do a one-liner or even fade away.

I suppose we did get some satisfaction compiling all of the info !

You may wish to read our disassociation letter - it's a bit long, but you may be able to use some of the research that took us over 1 year to accumulate.

Any ex- witness catholics out there?

i'm just curious - it seems to me that there was no religion so vilified by by jws as the catholics - most esp pre vatican ii (ie - 50's early to mid '60's).

are there any tht either returned to their catholic roots, or were raised jw and converted?

I was born and raised as a Roman Catholic, and used to go to church on a regular basis. Then I got involved with the JWs when I was 22, stayed in the JWS for over 30 years, until I found out about the UN Involvement etc, disassociated myself in 2002. I'm now reading lots of books and I'm coming to the conclusion, that there is NO correct religion backed by God. I even have doubts now about whether the bible is God's inspired word. There ARE contradictions in it.

The quickest way to get your Sundays back, is to ask the elders questions about the UN involvement etc. You will stir up a hornet's nest !!!

But then I don't know your family situation. Each of us has to approach this action in our own way and time.

The JWs had over thirty years (the best years) of my life, how I wish I had found out the truth about the "truth" years ago. Now I'm 61 (going on 30) and realise that it's all downhill from now !

What was the reason why you were never made an elder or Ministerial Servant

the reason i heard constantly by the elders, as to ones spiritual progress in the organisation was, .

"brothers are appointed by holy spirit.".

if this is the case, why is god speaking to himself when he says in 1 tim 3 v 6 .not a newly converted man, for fear that he might get puffed up with prideetc.. to re-iterate if god appoints elders, why would he give himself this advice ???.

Would you trust this guy to build an Ark?

i found this picture of otzi the iceman , whose mummy was found in the alps in 1991. he died about 5300 years ago.

that would make him a close contemporary of noah.

using only flint and copper tools , do you think this ancient man and his family could have built the biblical ark?

I think that we under-estimate the ancient people and their technology. We only need to look at the Mayas and Eqyptians for instance. They did pretty well building those pyramids without a Black & Decker power drill.

Another interesting point about the building of the Ark, how did they waterproof the bottom of the ark. did they build it on stilts to enable them to get to the underneath?

i've been 'lurking' on this discussion board for ages, but not posted until now - finally thought i'd go for it and post something myself!

i've chosen gypsy tart as my alias not because i'm a gypsy (i'm not), or a tart (not all the time lol) but because i love gypsy tart it's my v favourite pud ever!

i did think of calling myself 'hovisbiscuit' because that's what the other kids at school would call me (along with 'oh look it's a hova') whilst they all filed into assembly.

Welcome Gypsy Tart

I like your name, the tart was a favourite of my step-daughter when she was at school, but I could never find a recipe for it.

We (husband Kaytee & self) felt just like you when we realised that we had been duped all those years (over 30 yrs) and the best years of our life had been taken up with the JWs. Its so difficult to accept that we might never know the true meaning of life. I have read many books and looked at different translations of the bible. Its difficult to accept that we don't have an answer for everything anymore. But there isn't much we can do about it and 30+ years have already been wasted in the JWs, so I don't want to waste anymore. I will still keep on reading though and hoping that there is a powerful force out there who does have something lined up for this earth and mankind.

Do you have any "old friends"?

hey all,.

i was thinking today that many of us lack something that other people enjoy -- old friends.

we either weren't close to our high school friends, or sort of shut them out of our lives.

I too lost touch with friends that I had grown up with when I joined the JWs -"...bad associations spoil useful habits", but after seeing the Org for what it really is (after 32 years in) I was lucky (lucky - did I say Lucky!) to get back in touch with some friends, one in particular, I hadn't seen her for over 30 years, we had grown up together and went to the same school, lived in the same street. Now we are back in touch - I even went to her 60th birthday party. She is totally shocked at the way i am shunned by so called friends, and said she would never shun me it's completey unchristian, I got in touch with her again through "Friends Re-united"
