My Take On Anonimity.

this is just a few thoughts that i have regarding the subject of anonimity.

yes, i am making this post after being in the chat room with several others including kent and prisca.

it seemed to me that kent posted prisca's pic mainly out of sheer mischievousness and was quite taken aback at her very real distress at having her identity exposed.

Never was baptised even though I was born and raised in it and my entire family are still JW's. Drifted away but wasn't happy with that so I emailed an elder in Evansville's NW congregation and told him how full of crap I thought all of it is knowing he would pass it around to everyone else.
Personally, I sincerly hope that ALL of my postings do get back to all of the JW's I used to know.

i was lurking through old threads when i came accross one that mentioned prince as being a current witness....

are you kidding me, i had no idea.

has he always been a witness, or did he become one and that was the explanation for his music becoming lame?.

A few years back Larry Grahm opened for Prince. Back then Prince was still doing one of the best live shows in the world (in my opinion, and I've been to a lot of concerts). Larry Grahm is a JW. Prince always thought Grahm was an excellent musician and apparently Grahm was able to use that as a way to brainwash him.

I remember being in one of my many elders meetings (I was alwasy so bad) they were trying to tell me why one of the guys who was always on the fringe was so bad. Their main reasons why? He had tatoos and a goatee. They read some scripture about how it was bad to have tatoos from the old testament. It wasn't until later that I went back to reread that area that I picked up the scripture right before or after (can't remember which) that also said you're not supposed to shave your beard either. Idiots.........

What is the most UNFULFILLED prophecy inthe bible

the" creator book "helps us to see how many of the bibles predictions came true.. for instance on pg 106 we find,.

"consider this point.

isaiah wrote about babylons final situation:babylon the decoration of kingdoms, the beauty of the pride of the chaldeans, must become as when god overthrew sodom and gomorrah.she will never be inhabited, nor will she reside for generation after generation".

JW and Dinosaurs! (c'mon, Alan, help!)

OOOOOOOH, I'm joining this one. I'll LOVE hearing about how they may think that the dinosaurs were killed. This is something that I can nail them with if they say its anything other than a meteorite. I know a few things about meteorites (ok, so I made a deal today to trade a piece of a meteorite that I just got from the Smithsonian for a piece of moon rock) and I can nail them on anything they say. This'll be fun!

worst site for any Convention

Freedom Hall isn't so bad now. I'm not sure when they got rid of the bench seating but its been gone since at least the early 90's. My parents and sister still go there every summer. Haven't been myself for the past 3 conventions and don't even come close to missing it. The best time I ever had in that building was going to a Smashing Pumpkins conert.

i want to know what mommie dark and others believe on the subject of creation and jesus.

The big bang did not create life. It took about 8 or 9 billion years for it to develop. That's for here on earth anyways. Who knows how long for other planets. You wouldn't expect to use a 50 year old text book if you were taking a science class would you? Therefore why would you base your scientific beliefs on a book that's a few thousand years old? There's way to much evidence showing how we have evolved over millions of years.
As for the exsistence of Jesus, yes, he did exist. Was he as holy as everyone makes him out to be? Weren't all the gospels written long after he died? Also, aren't all the translations we have from a few hundred years after that? Seems like a pretty good chance for folklore to work its way in there if you ask me.

Favorite Activity Since Leaving The Borg

just about everyone i have talked to has started doing some different activities since leaving the borg.

just out of curiousity what would be your favorite activity?.

mine is flag football.

Collecting meteorites. I can finally begin to understand where we came from (as in how this world was formed). That and the fact that when you're holding a meteorite, you really do have a piece of a new world in your hand. I also am rather fond of fossils because that shows how we have evolved over millions of years. So amazing not having to learn everything from those incredibly WRONG articles in the Awakes. Not only that but I've actually made quite a bit of money reselling meteorites also. I know its a shamelss plug but check out my site at www.asteroidmodels.com. Even though I'm an amature I've even been able to make a couple discoveries that ended up in scientific journals. Not bad for someone who never even took a geology or astronomy class when a JW!!!
My wife was never a cult member herself and didn't really believe me when I told her about how my family would react to things that went against their belief system. One day we were over at my parents' house and my sister was there too. I had gotten some new meteorites in and I was going to explain why scientists know that a meteorite killed the dinosaurs. As soon as I said that everyone in there just stopped and stared coldly at me. You would've thought I just told them that I was leaving my wife for another man because that's what the shaman said and we were then going to set their house on fire. After a few very tense moments my sister looked at me coldly and just said "The flood killed the dinosaurs!" Ever since then my wife knows how screwed up my family is.
