  Apostates and the Holy Spirit

  i've heard elders say more than once that if the congregation isn't productive, there is probably an apostate in the midst; since the holy spirit doesn't seem to be upon the congregation.

  anyone ever hear similar claims before?.

  I mean seriously. God says, "You have a bad person in your congregation. I'm not going to tell you who it is, but I'm going to take my holy spirit and go away until you figure it out. Suffer, fools!"

  I never wore my best clothes to a convention. Did you ever clean a stadium in preparation for an assembly? Yuck! And you have your congregation's cleaning assignment after the sessions, although I'm sure the fashionistas don't participate in that menial work.

  They came knocking

  just had a couple of jdubs at the door.

  woman in 60's and guy looking mid-30s.. chatted for awhile but didn't let it get too deep cos i know it's pointless.

  got the usual, expected, uneducated comments.. i made my sceptical, scientific views clear.. exchange email addresses with the woman (guy didn't have one) and emailed her an invitation to continue the discussion by email.. what do you think my chances of a reply are?.

  The comments section is interesting too. Dorcas said " I see this latest example as an act of near desperation on the part of the GB. What does a person do when he feels he’s losing his grip or his control? He tightens that grip. I don’t know the reasons behind it, but I sincerely believe the GB feels threatened on some front and thus the need to keep us in line with with these types of parts."

  Sounds like some are waking up.

  does anyone have dreams or nightmares about jehovah's witnesses, the society, or your trapped loved ones?

  i do all the time and they wont stop.

  i wake up with cold sweats and an upset stomach.

  I've been out for 8-1/2 years and I dream about being at meetings or assemblies probably 5 nights out of 7. I'm always hating every second of it and wanting to leave but I have family there and have to put on a front for them.

  I remember taking a tour of the Bossert with my Bethelite brother back in 1987. Just standing in the lobby I was embarrassed by how luxurious it was, and how it had been paid for by donations for "the worldwide work." And I was a very loyal JW at the time.

  yep, says north korea.

  according to a new happiness index, north korea ranks second after china, followed by cuba, iran and venezuela.

  if you're wondering where america ranks, it's ranks at #203. .

  FDS new light no logic

  so according to the parable, a master has a slave, he asks him to look after his animals and.....then goes away!.

  after much time has passed....the master comes back and if he finds the slave has been loyal and has looked after the animals, he calls him a good slave, if not he is an evil slave.. so my point is, jesus handed over responsibility to this slave before he went away, the slave was loyal and a good worker during his absence, then on his return he found him looking after his animals as he asked.

  now i know we all see the parable for what it is .. the jesus character was saying "whilst i'm gone, you have to remain loyal and obediant and ready for my return etc".
