You'd better read that invitation out loud. It's well known that demons can't read.

An experiment: Open House for Demons
by return of parakeet ini feel cheated that never, not once, as a dub or as a ex-dub, did i experience the presence, manifestation, or just-things-flying-around, of demons.
not so much as a teacup levitating from its saucer.
no inexplicable cold spots.

1/15 WT- Guilt, Guilt, and More Guilt ! Black & White Cult Reasoning !
by flipper inthis particular article was discussed or touched on a couple months ago regarding the wt society's statement concerning jw's putting " jehovah above everything else- including the family bond " .
so i won't address those points in this thread, but there are many other points to address where the wt society uses guilt and black & white cult reasoning to control jw's minds with this information from the article titled, " let nothing distance you from jehovah ".
first off in paragraph 5 the wt tries to make people feel guilty looking for work and insists that if you get any job that takes you away from family- it will distance you from jehovah !

That WT 1/15 is EXACTLY the kind of #%$! that was printed on a regular basis in the 1970s.
I was thinking that this rhetoric wasn't new. I remember that bit about not being able to be appointed if your job prevented you from making all the meetings.
I always hated the fact that I never got a day off from the pantyhose. I'd have to get dressed up every weekday for work and then Saturday and Sunday mornings too. Sometimes I just wanted to bum around in my pajamas and have pancakes for breakfast on a Saturday morning, but my conscience (read: WT guilt tripping) would push me out the door.

What's the funniest/strangest name you ever gave a pet?
by JH in.
i was given a cat whose name was "piti".
i found it strange, but i kept it.

My cat is named Willoughby after the Jane Austen character.
As a kid we named our cat "Moxie" after the soft drink.
We also had a tortoiseshell cat named "Mincemeat" because that's what she looked like.
My ex-in-laws (both Dubs) used to live on a farm and would raise two pigs and two sheep every year (they ended up in the freezer). They named the sheep after bible characters (Barak and Gideon, for example) but they'd name the pigs after pop stars (Steve and Eydie, Sonny and Cher, Donny and Marie).

i mean not all but just some, becuase even though we may rant and rave against jw's at times.
we have to remeber that for those that were born in the jw's theywere like family.which is why it is so hard at for me to let go completely.. although i have been out for about 5 yrs and it feels good.

There's a new series on the ID channel (Investigation Discovery) called, "Dangerous Persuasions." The first episode featured the story of a couple who had risen to a high level in Scientology and left. Their account made the WTS look like a band of cub scouts.
It will show again on Saturday at 3 p.m.
