March 2020 Broadcast - Hard Push to Baptism. Why?

the jw broadcast for march 2020 is a hard push for more baptisms, where mark sanctamonious sanderson makes ready use of the phrase "baptised disciples of jesus" instead of their typical catch phrase "baptised servants of jehovah".

the "jesus message" is somewhat unusual rhetoric for jehovah's witnesses.

why the big push for more baptism?

A couple of years ago the GB directed a WT article to be written which dealt with the hierarchy of the ORG. The GB were prominently featured and Jesus was barely included in the illustration. You could tell it was Jesus by the crown if memory serves. Other than that...nothing very glorifying to the one who deserves all the glory by the decree of The Father.

That’s just one aspect of Da Troof that bothered me for years. The Bible itself states that “Jehovah” wants everyone to honor Jesus, yet the GB, Jesus’ own brothers ( 🤔 ) refuse to do so.

This lack of showing honor to Jesus is so ingrained that any congregant who mentions Jesus too much is eyed with suspicion. As a matter of fact, if you claim to have a personal relationship with The Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you are considered to be leaning dangerously close to apostasy at worst, and mentally and emotionally unstable at the least.

Jesus sells more products than “Jehovah” and I have no doubt that they will morph into a more “come to Jesus” sect of Xianity, at least during the initial advertising phase.

Once the recruits are in, the Scientology-esque beatdown will begin.

i have been feeding my very pimi brother tidbits and clippings of all the csa issues coming to light the last five years and all the org's business dealings of hundreds of closed halls congs dissolving etc.

and reminding him of all the failed prophecies etc etc.

although he would listen and acknowledge.

I feel sad for the Dubs who are left stunned, bewildered and lost if, IF....the Org burns to the ground, but...

It needs to happen, even if some Dubs jump from windows and end it all. The Org is totally beyond reform and needs to be erased. I don’t give a shit about any “religious freedom” talk.

Pick a side, the well-being of children or an American cult.

hello all, i'm 'researching', a jw who is in the first steps of taking a look at their beliefs.. i've semi-recently (about a couple weeks ago) heard about the sexual abuse cases (pennsylvania attorney general’s investigation request) and then the arc in 2015. this lead to a deep investigation, which lead to many questions arising.

a jw friend of mine suggested i be careful (due to apostates) and ask the brothers.

so i typed up my questions + concerns and emailed an elder my mother has known for a long time.

Lol. Actually there was a WT article in the not too distant past ( 2 years?? ) that hinted towards the possibility of “Satan” misleading even the chosen ones.. 🤔

Makes me wonder if the real owners of the WTBTS are ready to cut the GB loose as sacrificial lambs if necessary.

News Reports are "Apostate Lies"

with the most recent investigative news report show entitled "the witnesses" i noticed a number of posters whose family members are pimi refer to such shows as "apostate lies.

" even the governing body (possibly loesch) made such a statement (possibly on jw broadcasting).

i was thinking of how to reply to such a statement.. first, ask "who is the apostate?

I don’t think they hate pedophiles. I think they 100% fear the pedo-database being public because there are WT heavies on that list. The current policies were put in place by a group that includes Ted Jaracz who flatly denied to comment on the matter of child abuse while still alive.

I believe the GB were trying to shield themselves from legal action long ago, or trying to keep from bringing reproach by keeping things in house. They probably believed the big A was coming soon and their band-aid measures would work long enough. Here we are in 2020, a future that they could never imagine.

We have to remember their historic view on pedophilia. They viewed it as a “sin” not a crime; a sin that they could handle as God’s chosen ones. It wasn’t until very, very recently that they called pedophilia a crime, and just look what it took to force that “new light.” We can’t forget that sobering fact.

Do you believe the Bible is the inspired word of God ?

and why would god have a different number of bible books for different parts of the world.?.

is he partial to different ethnic groups ?.

The Bible is “true” from a certain point of view. Jordan Peterson has some interesting comments about the Bible. The problem we have now is that certain groups have become possessed by an ideology which is based on accepting the Bible as the literal/inerrant word of “God.”

Unwritten, congregational 'rules'

the big one in our hall was no frontal hugs!

these were generally thought of as inappropriate, only side hugs should be given between sisters and brothers.

In my congregation we kept a strict watch on any sister who seemed unduly interested in grabbing a microphone while commenting...😛

A big “guideline” that had to be followed, making it a rule.. ( Omg, I went around and around on this with idiot Eldubs.. ) was getting 10hrs a month in field circus, every month for 6 months to a year to be considered exemplary. No averages allowed.. you couldn’t get 20, then 5, then 8, then 12, ect.. you had to be “visible” in field circus.

We has a lot of older brothers who couldn’t always do that, and some with depression or wives with depression, but guess what they could do?? Mow the lawn, cleaning the lawn, clean the bathrooms, pick up literature, work the literature counter, give talks last minute, vacuum the KH, organize territories, run microphones, ect.

ALL the shit jobs month after month after month after year after year, only to hear, NOPE... not exemplary.. Yet an old-old ex-MS was reappointed because he was old and it encouraged him even though he couldn’t do anything..

So why not appoint those “lesser” ones and encourage them. Maybe they are never Eldubs, or never even give a public talk..So what?? Maybe their roles never change, just the title?? So what?? Maybe they’re never going to be Eldubs?? Who cares??

It never made sense and I started to wonder if maybe, just maybe...the field service/hourly requirement was just another method of controlling people and making them feel terrible so that they would continually chase the carrot of spiritually the GB dangles in front of them.
