  Revelation 19:1 omitted from NWT index?

  i am just curious about something.

  the term great crowd of other sheep does not exist in the scriptures.

  while looking into the great crowd of revelation i noticed that revelation 19:1 is not included in the index under the term great crowd.

  I am just curious about something. The term great crowd of other sheep does not exist in the scriptures. While looking into the Great Crowd of Revelation I noticed that Revelation 19:1 is not included in the index under the term Great Crowd. I have not found any discussions on this verse in the CD-library, yet, except that this group praises God. What is also interesting is that when you go famous verses such as Revelation 7:9 and check the cross references you are NEVER taken to Revelation 19:1, at least I have not found an instance of it being listed. If you follow the cross references you go all over the bible, but so far never to Revelation 19:1. In fact the cross-reference for Revelation 19:1 doesn't even take you to another scripture mentioning the great crowd. Has anyone looked into this? Just curious, and as I said I am still checking so I am not making any statements or claiming to have an answer at this time.

  yet another video effort by the society to be apparently pulled off jw.org and given an audience on youtube.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbohitd8goi.

  my observations.... despite obvious attempts to garner praise, the feedback robert gets from passersby is far from glowing.

  at best, it can be described as neutral, with none of those chosen to comment seeming to know anything about jw beliefs.

  I think they are so desperate that they are going to play the nostalgia card. They have the new " From our archives " section in the magazines now. They want to make the friends think that they are witnessing just like the brothers and sisters from the past. I wouldn't be suprised if they send some rolling literature carts/displays to certain congregations for trial runs. If it works, bicycles are coming back next due to high gas prices! Oh wait the GB doesn't care if your poor, nevermind...

  59 locations tied-in plus spanish.

  anticipating 258,000 attendance from tickets given out.

  Thank God I am not considered spititual enough to anything more than clean bathrooms at conventions. At least my time spent smelling BS is brief compared to sitting through all those meetings....

  i've always suspected this was the wt society's view when i was in the jehovah's witness organization - but never knew the head of the writing committee karl adams had written a letter to nathan knorr ( then wt president ) recommending a change regarding reporting field service time as it wrongly emphasized jw members being seen as mainly being approved due to field service statistics - instead of emphasizing christian qualities of love, kindness, peace, etc.. karl adams had been personally handpicked by nathan knorr to be the head of the writing department.

  in 1971 he wrote a letter to knorr which he wanted shared with the entire governing body as well .

  Hi everyone,

  I can say from first-hand experience that the Elders only care about hours as opposed to showing love. A couple months ago I was under investigation because of questioning the Organizations procedures regarding appoinments. I was told in no uncertain terms that it does not matter what you do in private, it does not matter if you help your neighbors, or even the elderly in your congregation. All that matters is what you are seen doing by the congregation. In other words are you visible in service.? Yes, all must view your righteousness. The view was expressed that if you expect to be recommended for appointment, you must be leading the friends, they (rank-and-file ) cant be leading you. So these humble stars in Jesus right hand feel as though they are the leaders, not shepherds, of the flock. The cold calculating manner in which the investigation took place literally shocked me. I will never forget seeing the true nature of these men revealed. They don't give a damn about you, because that is how they have been groomed for years. All normal human emotion shut down the moment they said " amen " to start their inquisition. They are exactly like their Masters, the GB. Pharasaic, legalistic blind hypocrites leading the blind, straining out the gnat, and gulping down the camel. Love, justice and mercy are only catch-phrases to most of them. Even if there are a few good Elders out there, they are still deceived themselves. Plus what can 1 or 2 fair- minded, loving and balanced Elders do against such overwhelming odd? If Ray Franz couldn't changes things than who can? I will never forget the lesson I learned that day. You simply cannot trust an indoctrinated JW, not even those who claim to be your friend. They are not your friends, they are company men. I will never confide in one of them, or trust them, it is simply too dangerous. They will betray you to their true masters the GB.

  i have been repeatedly pleaded with to read the books of ray franz in my short stay on this board.

  apparently these are all the all-powerful, wt crushing arguments, that lead so many to leave jw's and become ruthless opposers of god's people.

  we can discuss any claims/statements/scriptural arguments presented in either of his books, as long as it somehow proves jehovah's witnesses are not god's people.

  How would YOU explain a Jehovah's Witness FEAR of Disfellowshipping to a reporter ?

  today i got contacted by a reporter.

  he was incredulous that a parent would contact elders and not report a child rape to the police immediately.

  i tried to put on my jw hat and explain the jw mindset to him..but it was like explaining color to a blind man.

  I would argee with everyone so far. Yes, how do you explain color to a blind man? No matter what is written in any publication or stated in any PR video about loyalty to Christ or being pround to called a Christian, the rank-and-file follow the GB, period. The GB's thoughts are their commands. Disobeying the GB is the equivalent of disobeying God. Disobeying an Elder by thinking for yourself or questioning anything is tantamount to disobeying the GB. From birth you are told the the " slave " knows what is best and is the sole channel for your very life. To be cast outside is to lose everything now, to live as an unreasoning animal existing from day to day with no hope except eventual, everlasting destruction. The guilt of never doing enough while inside the organization never ends for many. The fear of constant scrutiny from men and wondering if you will survive armageddon enters your dreams. There is never a time when your thought are not centered on the organization. You are either thinking of how to please them to make your life easier, or why you don't measure up, are they all talking about me, am I spiritually weak, or how to escape. The fear of being Df'd is so real that many will live their entire lives with no true friends, no one to be truly honest with, knowing that if they did confide in anyone, even their mate, they risk being cut-off from everyone they know. There is no honorable way to leave, and no recourse against the religious authority. You are a prisoner. You find whatever happiness you can within your cell, or you risk death on the outside in a world of enemies who have no scriptural hope of survival. You suppress who you really are, and give up all that you could have been in exchange for a time-slip that they approve of. Anything less and you are labeled as weak, spiritually diseased, emotionally imbalanced and a carrier of spiritual sickness that could spread to the flock. Elder's phone calls and Elder's wanting to " just talk " set your heart racing and tie your stomach in knots and keep you awake at night. When things are at their worst you wonder how your family would handle the news of your suicide. You hate yourself for allowing others to cause you so much fear and pain in your life. You work late to avoid meetings, pretend to be sick for others, you do what you can to lessen the burden, just not too much to arouse suspicion since this would mean more calls and meetings. In the end, if you love your family you pull yourself up by your bootstraps, paint on a smile and hope no one can see through it, and you keep going. You think, " someday I will get my chance, someday..".

  my mother just told me today that her cousin's wife has extended an invite for me to attend their 35th wedding anniversary.

  i find that i'm not in the mood to be surrounding by a group of jws especially since said cousin and his wife are both jws and i did accept the wife as a friend on facebook where i've been none too discreet about my distaste for the society.

  My Grandma said , " An invitation is not a subpoena." She was sweet old grammy, and did't take any guff. You are under no obligation to attend, and the negative vibes will be bad for you. Why waste hours of your life? Go do something fun instead!!
