I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge today as my 22nd wedding anniversary. Fortunately its the 5th one for my wife and I outside of the Borg. I've been working out of town, my job has moved me to Tulsa, family soon to follow, but get to spend a happy day with my wife (enlightened ephesian) today. Happy Anniversary honey, glad to be on this journey together!

Would it be too cruel to..............
by Amelia Ashton inyesterday i had a real blast from my past turn up un-announced on my doorstep.
she bumped into my daughter (who has rejected me) in sainsbury's, took her to lunch and got my address from her.
she claims she has been searching for me ever since she discovered i was back in the uk.. she is a disfellowshipped sister who was described by one of our elders as a wagon.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, is she initiating religious conversation or are you? If she invited you for dinner in spite of your contrary views, wouldn't that indicate that she's willing to accept you for who you are instead of for conforming your views? Or is she wanting to try and change your views and convert you back to the jw's? If not trying to concert you, isn't this the kind of acceptance we all long for, to have freedom to have our own views and still not be shunned. She should have the freedom to hold her own views too. Can you accept her despite her views? Again maybe I'm misunderstanding, please explain.

unfortunately the facts do not bear this out.
jws are still increasing even in most developing countries, and they are still growing worldwide at a faster rate than the general population.

The WTS is so dependent on the numbers to prove they are the "onnly true religion with God's backing" they simply can't ever afford to report a decline. They never will!!!! The only hope is for individual members to look around and see people leaving the congregation or the combining of congregations. They will only see that if they want to. But then again, the WTS has an explanation for that too, it simply is further proof of Satan attacking God's people as prophesied, its a win-win for the devious bastards.

Sosoconfused, I feel for you. I could imagine my mother, far less eloquently, writing such a letter. Its heart-wrenching to read her letter, moreso because of how mislead she is and doesn't even realize it. You must feel so powerless to reach your parents, I know I do. The only way I can cope is to build an emotional barrier that I don't let them through, whether good or bad, its the same. I realize their love and acceptance is 100% conditional. I have two brothers, one is an ex-con inactive witness, the other has severe emotional trauma and can't function on his own, he is dependent on my parents and he's df'd too. I'm financially independent and successful with two wonderful kids and a wife of 22 years (this June 26), and yet I'm the unacceptable shunned one who disappoints them and that they want nothing to do with. So I feel your pain and know how you must feel. But to know that you are standing on your own two feet as a complete family unit, making your way successful and making your own decisions and future, is so gratifying and purposeful that you won't trade it for emotional bondage. Stay strong and committed. Make your wife and kids and true friends your world and life will be as rewarding as ever. You will feel nothing but pity for those who refuse to love you and know you. Much love and support

Just can't miss a meeting, not even on a vacation

Great video. In listening to those guys, its obvious they were aroused by the story. They can't handle any description of intimacy. How else could they conclude that young sisters could get involved in very bad things by reading this. By the way, why is it so wrong to describe fornication? What if it was murder instead? Would there have been a special elder visit? Why is it that sex is so much worse and shocking than murder, robbery, fraud???? Those things are glossed over, but if two single people kiss or share their love illegally, holy crap, call on god for help!!!
Regarding Matt 5 and 18, its never followed. Why? Because if it was, the elders would be unemployed and unnecessary. People would actually have to talk, communicate, and reason and compromise. Gosh can't have that, they would lose their power and control.
Finally, at what point does my avoiding making you stumble because of your weak-ass conscience and busybody ways stumble me? Do you give a shit about that, holier-than-thou elders????

I don't have a strong position either way on prayer. I've had times in my life that I felt that prayer helped me and to.es that I was convinced prayers were answered. Overall I always felt a disconnect towards god though, even while serving as an elder. I never felt god or holy spirit guided decisions. I did however feel prayer helped me to talk things out in my head and to identify priorities. I always dreaded public prayers, felt prayer should be personal. I used to believe it was thru prayer that we talked to god and he talked to us thru the bible, so that you take a matter to him in prayer then you ho to the bible and you would find his reply. I no longer am convinced of this. At this point I'm rather apathetic towards prayer, although I frequently meditate on god and the bible.

Interesting replies so far. When you say "naughty", I thought of an entirely different type of naughty. Perhaps just my naughty mind, but here are a few:
1. French kiss (as long as its your wife).Don't dare use that tongue elsewhere.
2. Wear logot-shirts (as long as no crosses, references to alcohol or sex or demonic music bands).
3. Get drunk (as long as its just once, its an accident, and you're at home).
4. Smoke a cigarette (as long as only one and it was an extreme moment of weakness and you hated it and make an oath to never do so again)
5. Wear a bikini swimsuit (as long as your bodyisn't so sexy that you make the elders wives feel inferior and the elders drool)
6. Not wear underwear (as long as no one can ever know)

I think its rather interesting that the food provided by the GB/fds/evil slave after having provided it as good, fine food at the proper time, they then come back and say, oops we gave you the decorative plastic fruit that decorates the table. It looked real, felt real, but alas we gave it to you by mistake. I'm sure you thought it looked like and felt like real fruit, you did eat it after all, and you didn't dwell on how it tasted or how sick it made you. This time though, we got it straight, here's the real food at the proper time. Only to come back a short time later and say oops, we were confused again, that damn wax looks so convincing. All the while our insides are unable to digest it, there's no nourishment, and we are literally getting sick and throwing it up. How sad to continue eating from that source, truly a dog returning to his vomit!
