Nothing can top the decree that now you have to wear your badge going to the DC too, and you have to dress up the day you arrive at the hotel, shorts and non collared shirts are not dignified and fitting for Jehovahs people.. Why do witnesses need the title of pioneer to get 30 hours?

if witnesses believe that we truly are in the end of the end of the last days, and they believe the work they do will really save lives, and most can just make a few adjustments and get 30 hours, why dont they do this more often??

without the title?.

to me if you really care about people you would not wait until you have a special title or badge to wear of look at me im pioneering, you would do the most you can every month and not care about recognition from men.

To me if you really care about people you would not wait until you have a special title or badge to wear of look at me im pioneering, you would do the most you can every month and not care about recognition from men. Pioneering is a status symbol among JW's, why do you need it if you really believe you are saving lives? Just looking for more insight into the thinking of witnesses about this. I really dont know how they justify even counting time. They say dont compare yourself to others and then trot out the oldest and sickest people on the platform and say basically, if they can do it, why cant you?

i ask the question because i read a very persuasive article on-line that showed that the apostle paul was not referring to mere homosexual practice in his words in his letters, but to temple prostitution etc, so he was condemning idolatry, not being homosexual per se.. the basic usage of the word that some translations render as "homosexual" and the n.w.t, falling in to the etymology trap, renders "men who lie with men" means temple prostitute.

the account of sodom and gomorrah has been shown on here to be concerned with lack of hospitality being the sin, mistreatment of strangers etc, still a no- no in desert communities.

the whole story may well be a folk story or myth anyway, but it is interesting to see that the sexual acts themselves are not the main thrust (sorry) of yahweh's anger.. the law (leviticus?

Today's watchtower study... Ugh.

watchtower studies like today's really make me feel anger for this cult.

i mean almost all of them do but this one is one of those articles that takes things too far.. i mean they are condemning the people who are trying to help/save the earth because it's "satan's" world and instead are saying that religious salesmen with magazines are doing way more than the others!like are you f**king kidding me?another reason why i hated this study article is for what some of the young ones did in response to the study.

My wife just told me to move out...

because of "religious" differences, she now wants me to move out and "separate"...i said what biblical grounds does she have for her request?.

she couldnt respond...she said she'd rather be beaten up by me than have an "apostate" in the house.... this org definitely encourages conditional love.... i don't know what to do...by the way, we dont have children.

My wife told me the same thing, why dont you move out?! I only married you because you were a JW! She ridiculed me and became very nasty when I said all I need from a spiritual perspective is a relationship with Christ. She literally stormed out of the house to my parents house and returned with them in tow, crying and grieiving, Imagine the scene!! I backed off quick because I do want to save my family if possible.

This is how they are contitioned to react I think based on the similiar responses we all seemed to get when our spouses find out how we feel! I realize this is not her, but the cult persona.

Dropping TTATT like a bomb NEVER works even if it is lovingly presented if our goal is to save our marriage. It takes skill, using questions, and great patience that not everyone has. I am attempting this approach now.

Im sorry this has happened to you, I know firsthand how it can tear you up inside, and make us age like presidents. Dont move out, let her make all the moves, just be kind and loving to her, the opposite of how they expect apostates to act. Dont feed into the monster they will try to paint you to be. Also congrats on Getting your parents out! You are not alone, so many have been through, are going through or will go through the same.

Deteriorating content of the WT

has anyone noticed the recent deterioration in the quality of wt's contents lately?..

the spiritual food seems to be getting more and more shitty these days.

i have given a thought to what could really be going wrong, and if it is likely that some on the wiriting committee is consciously dishing out those nonsense to facilitate more poeple seeing ttat.

There used to be more "deep" study. It was crap, but at least the cult had an apperance of depth.. Now its just conform, dont question, keep yourselves in gods love, its just behavior control now. When there is anything deeper it just recycles old stuff. Even the Jerimiah book really has nothing of his prophecies, just twisting and massaging the Bible book to push field service, conformity.. Ironic because Jerimiah actually sttod up to "Jehovahs organization" of the day, he was all alone and refused to conform. But most of the indoctrinated wont see whats staring them in the face unfortuantunately

Notes from "Safeguard Your Conscience" Special Assembly Day

recently we had the 'privilege' of attending our local special assembly day.

the theme for this year was safeguard your conscience, and you guessed it, they looked up every reference to the word 'conscience' in the bible and then wrote a talk about each one.

it was most definitely a case of "pack your bags, we're going on a guilt trip.".

Is it a "Bible trained conscience"? or a programmed reaction to a given situation based on years of WT indoctrination/training. Dont follow your gut, just research WT Library for Gods thoughts! They truly are a modern day golden calf. I may need to sneak in a flask this year.. Hopefully I wont be at many more of these puke inducing, idolatrous mind control sessions.

I agree that it serves as a visible symbol that the religion holds no authority anymore over them. Also many look better with a beard, and some may have trouble with ingrown hairs but most of all it shows that we are no longer under their control
