Name the GOOD things and NICE things about Jehovah's Witnesses

ok, so in the interests of balance....(as it has rightly been pointed out that i am getting more bitter toward the org), can we think of any positive or nice things about jehovah's witnesses?.

My wife was talking with her firend who has an infant the same age as ours, 6 months. They were both discussing how their JW family are cold to them and their grandchildren, having little to do with them, but the WORLDLY family was involved, visiting, giving of time and material gifts! The JW family is too wrapped up "pioneering".

They are WORSE than average, everyday people, and the good they do is either to look good, get brownie points. The genuine good they do would be done by them wheather they were JWs or not, and the JWs divert the charitable part of their heart into "pioneer work".

There is nothing unique to JWs that is good. Any kind and warm JWs are that way IN SPITE of the cult, not because of it.

Some have quit drugs, prostitution or drinking by becoming a JW, but this is not unique to them and the same result could have been attained by joining any other religion, or rehab.

They do help you to feel comfortable speaking in public and reading well because of the TMS. Thats all I got.

Hypocritical video on jw.org "what's a real friend."

have you watched the 4 min animated white board drawing video on jw.org called "what's a real friend?".

it is one of the most hypocritical pieces they have produced!.

it goes into detail explaining that real friends "don't judge you, dont talk about you behind your back, don't hold grudges, don't expect you to conform, and encourage individuality!".

What Data Dog said!! Also their definition of a true friend is the opposite of a good JW?? Is your shirt a little low cut? Skirt not past the knee? FOrgot to shave? Guess what? You will be gossiped about, and judged!!

Do you have doubts about 1914? 607? 1919? Blood transfusion doctrine? Child abuse policies? Either you keep these to yourself and not tell even your spouse or best friend, or else face the loss of their CONDITIONAL love and friendship, whether you are DF or no. Like DD said, thats no way to be a friend. THey MUST cut you off as a friend for having non approved THoughts!! How crazy is that! There are no friends as conditional or Judgemental or intolerant as JWs!! My wife is shunning her "best friend" right now because of a decision 3 MEN made! Pitiful.

I send a big hug your way SIAR2 From the other side of the planet in the opposite hemisphere! Although we are do far away, we share such similar thoughts and circumstances. It is getting harder to sit through these meetings. If only time machines were real.... Lets just say I would have a good use or 2 with it. Keep your head up my friend.

if you haven't yet read it...please do so..... it is so ridiculous!

so leading, so distorted, and full of "bait and switch" techniques.. "prove you have the truth"..by seeing how neutral witnesses were in war times?

They just announced last night that the meeting will be 3 hours long and will be live streamed to the KH at 3 pm saturday. It will include a WT summary. There will be no sunday meeting.

Why don't parents of an abused child go straight to police, why go to an elder first??

i hope i don't come across as judgemental but having read a lot on the current child abuse cases and the different threads on here, i am left wondering why on earth a parent of an abuse victim would go to an elder with the problem first and not straight to police?.

as a parent myself i know that if anything like that happend to my child (this applies to when i was still an active jw as well as now) i would not hesitate in going to the authorities as soon as i found out, it wouldn't of crossed mine or my husbands mind to go to an elder.

maybe after we had reported it but definitely never as the first port of call.

These cases need national attention. JWs need to know that millions of their donated dollars will be going to sex abuse settlements. Not to mention the millions that have already been shelled out in out of court settlements. They also need to see the lack of holy spirit on the GB's actions. They need to put themselves in the shoes of these parents and ask themselves, what would I do?
