Highlights from the Circuit Assembly!!
by DATA-DOG ingod's word is beneficial ca:.
full time service:.
there are sound reasons for pioneering.. 1) it's the most satisfying work there is.. 2) you cooperate even more fully with the angels and the anointed [ which equals the gb/fds, not sister old mcsingletilldeath.].

Thanks for sharing that DD. Tell me, did they mention a new "principle" that paintball and laser tag are wrong for JW?

I just thought of something....
by ILoveTTATT inif satan is the #1 apostate, and apostates are not to be talked to, why then did jesus even talk to him?.
why did jesus, if he is supposed to be our example, even talk to him?.
why doesn't the bible say "and satan tried to talk to jesus, and jesus ignored him.

That is such a good thought. Truth is never afraid of, nor flees from lies and darkness. That is why JWs need the poison excuse to avoid former members.

To DA myself or to go to JC meeting, that is the question
by Crazyguy ini just got done with another visit at my home with two elders and even though i tried to say very little they took anything they could as a disagreement with them as enough to say they may call a jc meeting after they talk to the rest of the elder body.
so since they are planning on dfing me any way, i'm wondering if i should just write a letter or go through with their meeting?.

I personally would try to ignore them. However, they very well could DF you in absentia. If your two options are the letter or the JC, if you are up for it please do the JC and RECORD it a la RayPubisher. It would help so many, and we really need more JCs online. Just go in with a few simple points of logic that you know they will struggle with and go from there. Crazyguy you KNOW TTATT!! You may not feel you can articulate yourself perfectly or remember everything you want too. Make some simple notes and take them along if you need to. They will be a comfort to have even if you dont need to use them, they are there if you need them. It does not really matter if you dont care about getting DF anyways. A letter will likely do no good, seeing as once they see the tone of the letter, they likely will fastforward to the end, see that you are DAing and not expose themselves to "apostate propaganda".
Whatever you choose I wish you well Crazyguy.. Keep us posted ok? -BU2B

Please help re:objections to Thanksgiving?
by M.J. inwhat are the standard jw objections to thanksgiving?
do they claim there is any kind of a scriptural basis for condemning it?
i plan on asking someone about this and i'm curious what types of reasoning they might try to throw at me.

I think thanksgiving is a holiday that blowsthe whole "JWs dont celebrate holidays because they are pagan" line. Thanksgiving shows the proof that it does not matter the origins of something, holidays are banned because the GB wants JWs to be TOTALLY seperate from non JWs. That is the case no matter the day or the origin. They completely ignore Pauls counsel at Colossians 2:16 "Therefore do not let anyone judge you with respect to food or drink, or in the matter of a feast, new moon, or sabbath days" (NET Bible)
The GB has banned anything that would make JWs appear "worldly" (normal citizen) to anyone. All JWs celebrate is the Memorial, which is just another talk, followed by passing wine and crackers that no one eats, then maybe going out to eat and going home. It is not a time of gift giving, family bonding, or joy.. It is a drudgery just the way the GB masters want it.

As Far as JW's and Thanksgiving go...
by OnTheWayOut init's one of the most confusing holidays to jw's.
it doesn't specify who to give thanks to, it's a u.s. holiday that is semi-patriotic and semi-religious but not necessarily either one.. i suppose jw's should go out of their way to avoid giving thanks this thursday so jehovah doesn't get pissed at them for being so slightly normal worldly and maybe accidentally smite them if armageddon starts this thursday..

JJ Abrams and the WTBTS.
by DATA-DOG inyou are probably wondering what these two subjects have in common.
well, i have been pondering something for quite some time.
i have been trying to figure out how explain the recent and huge doctrinal shifts of the wtbts since the 2012 annual meeting, and the accompanying modernizing of the jw official website.
