  Any explanation from the WT as to why Adam and Eve did not have sex before they sinned? (and other Genesis stumpers)

  (disclaimer- i know this is all fairy tales but i like to pick genesis apart since many millions still take it literally and is the foundtion of jw doctrine.

  without genesis being real, the whole thing collpses).

  i was just reading through genesis yesterday, and it really hit me.

  I find the tribal people of the world debunk the whole "shame is inherent" thing. Shame about ones body is LEARNED. The only reason a child may be bashful about their nakedness is because he sees everyone else covering up, so naturally he would feel out of place. Certain body parts in our society are viewed to be "shameful". In tropical/subtropical climates around the entire world whether it be South America, Africa, Asia, North America, Australia, everywhere it was possible to be naked, people were or nearly so. NO culture in these areas had a taboo on womens breasts, some wore loincloths, many did not. They had to be taught by the christiain and muslim missionaries and explorers that they were sinning by being naked. Even many of the tribes in warm climates today that wear clothes do so because they were taught that it was wrong not to. They have 0 shame. This to me proves the whole, "nudity is sinful" because of the "original sin" is bogus. It is cultural/religous standards and nothing more.

  hello all, as you know, when jw tv was announced, our board went wild.

  many comments, much speculation and alot of negative feedback on the quality, etc.

  well, what has me concerned is that i have not heard a peep from any of my connections left in kingdom-land.

  This weeks #2 & #3 talk on homosexuality

  after a one year sucessful fade and no longer associated with any congreation, i was visiting my sister this week (who goes to the meeting to please her husband for now; i am slowly planting seeds though) and they decided to year this weeks midweek meeting via the telephone.

  since i was a guest in her house, i sat with them in the living room to hear the meeting.

  to my surprise (especially growing up as a gay jw with still alot of anger in my heart over how i was treated), the talks 2 and 3 where on, of course, homosexualiy.

  An elder was assigned the talk in "my" KH. He stuck pretty close to the source material, but went on about how bad gay marriage is. To be honest I tuned it out.

  As long as people are not hurting others, or PUSHING their beliefs and lifestyle on others I dont see what the harm could be. So much damage is done by trying to supress peoples true sexuality. I believe sexuality is a sliding scale and in many cases not as simple as gay or straight. Many people have had desire for both sexes at some point, but most feel forced to choose a side at some point. Our society is obsessed with labels.

  When the WT delivers its ignorant advice that you can "cure" homosexuality by marrying a woman, the result is a miserable marriage. Can you imagine being a gay man married to someone he has little to no attraction to? Can you imagine being a woman stuck in a marriage to a gay man with no way out? If they let people be themselves this would not happen as it so often has.

  The WT is behind the times, but we do well to remember that as recently as the 50s and 60s, homosexuality was listed as a mental disorder or disease much like pedophelia is today. The difference is that pedophiles harm others, even when they do not intend to. Homosexuals do not.

  I find it fascinating that explorers and scientists for years supressed evidence of homesexuality in the animal kingdom since this undermined their argument that it is unnatural and ungodly. They couldnt have people knowing that the majority of mammal species have a percent of males that exclusively pair off and ha ve sex with each others. In some species such as penguins, they even pai off for life, using a stone in place of an egg.

  JWs in general are so bigoted and hateful and homophobic even beyond what is in the publictions. They show by their actions and words that they believe that it is a worse sin than others.

  Your wife is not a "super pioneer" if she is watching Game of thrones. If the elders found out she would be deleted for sure. This is not a bad thing.

  My mom went wild with glee at what she called "the modern day WBBR" from everyone else.. Silence. Granted I dont hang out with JWs and at the KH its come in after the song and leave right after talking to 1 person so I might not be the best barometer.

  If the JWs think the new "TV" is embarassing, most will not criticize it, just stay silent. Just following the advice we all got as kids "if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all"

  Will JW rape victims die at Armageddon as apostates?

  many jw victims flee the "truth" after elders have raped them and covered it up.

  doctrines aside, there would be no reason for one of these young victims to conclude the watchtower environment is god's arrangement on earth.. does the organization acknowledge this irreparable damage or will it write these victims off as apostates, slated for death at armageddon if they choose to get the hell out?.

  A JW would never consider this question because they would view them as liars right off the bat. They werent victims, they are money hungry people trying to bring reproach on "Je-hoooovahs Organization"

  Well put Hoser. So true. The real reason for the strain in many cases IS THE RELIGION! Take that away and the stress melts off too. Even when you skip meetings for a week, you feel the stress leave.

  JW.ORG REPORTS THE WATCHTOWER RESPONSE TO EBOLA

  i just checked the jw.org website and noticed an article about the jw response to ebola.

  as i suspected, the entire focus was on alerting and educating jw members about ebola.just like in other disaster situations, the jw organization almost exclusively assists it's own members, ignoring the general public.

  it seems their main concern is keeping their members healthy so they can continue to spread the jw message door to door!!!

  This is sick. The virus is quasi airborne via saliva droplets, with health workers who were in full protective equipment contracting the virus anyways, and after all that the best the WT can do is to have a hand washing station like its some great thing? Of course that is better than nothing, but the fact that they are encouraging people, some likely infected to meet together in tight quarters is irresponsible. Anyone is stupid to trust the WT now after what happened in the Typhoon Haiyan in the Phillipines. They were still holding meetings when the Island was under warning and died in the KH. However the sheeple will continue to believe the elders or GB have a clue.

  ADCMS- What a sad spineless excuse for a man that elder was. They go on about bloodguilt, and wouldnt want to even harm a rapist, yet they are the same ones who let their young children die for a evil doctrine. So sad.
