Blood problems in Italy
by OrphanCrow inin february 2017, the european association of jehovah's witnesses made a "submission to un human rights committee subsequent to the adoption of the list of issues on the sixth periodic report of italy".. the 119th session of the human rights committee is currently underway - the dates are march 6 - march 29.. the wts has been trying to get "intesa" status in italy for decades and this latest submission to the un highlights the problems the jws are encountering in italy concerning the blood taboo.. this link will take you to a downloadable word document that is the wt's submission being considered:.

23676 of 2008: mr grassato (one of jehovah’s witnesses) was unconscious when admitted to the hospital.

RC: blood transfusions do save lives. But it should also be looked at as a slippery slope, if a government can tell you what medical procedures you should or should not accept then that is when a problem does come in. It does apply to doctors as well. It is your body you get to decide what medical treatments you allow and which you deny.
I agree also. But it is also worth considering that not having blood transfusions cost lives. But it should also be looked at as a slippery slope, if the Watchtower can tell you what medical procedures you should or should not accept then that is when a problem does come in. It does apply to the governing body as well. It is your body but as a Jehovah's Witness you do not get to decide what medical treatments you allow and which you deny.

Found a new difference between the old NWT and the new one...
by ILoveTTATT2 inyesterday i read jeremiah 8-11 because that's what was studied in the clam.
i am in a different city and decided to go to the meeting to check it out and possibly ask the witnesses some questions and see how they treat a "newcomer".anyways...nwt, 1984 version:.
(jeremiah 10:13) 13 at [his] voice there is a giving by him of a turmoil of waters in the heavens, and he causes vapors to ascend from the extremity of the earth.

The correct translation of specific words in the Bible can drastically affect modern English language. For example: if secular society accepted the NWT 1984 version then we have "fruit" in the garden of Eden and "sluices" in the book of Jeremiah. Fortunately the world rejected the NWT 1984 translation and its grammar.
It's only recently, and only after the JWs switched to following digital tablets for the law, and not stone tablets, that they too dropped the use of the NWT 1984 translation in favor of a modern upgrade.
Imagine calling the below pictured product a Fruit Sluice cable instead of an Apple Lightning cable.

Spain: Jehovah's Witnesses wants to silent a one-million-euro entrepreneurial hole
by sp74bb insource: http://cronicaglobal.elespanol.com/vida/testigos-jehova-agujero-empresarial-galicia_69908_102.html.
jehovah's witnesses asked to hide a one-million-euro entrepreneurial hole at a northern spain supply firm.
the cult appealed to the "peace" of the congregation to pressure the co-owners of the firm and prevent them from reporting the case to ordinary justice.. the case concerns a well-known construction supplies company based in a large northern city.

I wonder if the one million Euros, or the equivelent, somwhow found its way into the Watchtower accounts or construction sites.

What are some things JWs re-name to make themselves different than Christians?
by NikL injws re-name things so they seem like they are different than other religions.
(of course we know they are different but that's another story).
i was just thinking about those things where they are like most everyone else in christendom but the re-name it to seem different.. for example god forbid they have a church, it's a "kingdom hall".. they don't have pastors and deacons they have "elders" and "ministerial servants".. they don't have tithing but they will have family heads fill out a paper saying how much they can contribute on a monthly basis (not sure if there is a name for that...unless it's tithing.

A friend of mine (worldly person) attended the kingdom hall (church) with me once out of curiosity. During the Watchtower study (indoctrination session) he heard the JW phrase "reaching out" and asked me what it meant. I replied "brown-nosing" and explained that it only applied to brothers (baptized males). During the rest of the meeting my friend paid particular attention to those brothers that had privileges (microphone carrying) and to those brothers who answered the questions read by the Watchtower overseer (religious instructor).
After the meeting ones of these brothers came over to introduce himself and his wife (love bombing) to my friend. After introductions (start the field service time clock) my friend sarcastically said to the brother "It was good to see you reaching out in your church today." The wanna-be ministerial servant (church cleaner) replied: "Thank you. I always try to put Jehovah (Watchtower corporation) first in all things." My friend broke down in laughter.

There are a number of different Watchtower Library versions. What version you are authorized to have access to depends on how high up the Watchtower corporate ladder or JW religious hierarchy you are.
