  My Husband Died One Year Ago Today

  after eighteen years of marriage, my husband passed away last year of a terminal liver disease.

  today is the aniversary of his death.

  he died on april 22, 2001 and he was the love of my life.

  John Edwards/Crossing Over

  has anyone seen the show "crossing over" with john edwards?

  i was a complete skeptic of such things but this show is something else.

  i am convinced that this guy is the real deal.

  The amazing thing is that he gets away with it enough to do so many shows all the time. If they ever catch him completely and blow the lid off the whole thing that'll be a mess.

  i love these things.

  they are such a great place to find some books for my library.. well blow me over.

  That is cool. My mom (though not active) has stuff from years and years and years ago in her basement. Her mother was a JW etc.. I've gone through and found stuff in perfect shape that is well over 60 years old in some cases.. Cool find!

  i am new here.

  tho i have lurked, this is my first real post.. i was doing "personal research" for the last 5 years, tho was helped along recently when i was deleted as an elder because i work for a company owned by a disassociated jw.

  there is no real definitive info in print, other than the infamous 9/15/81 wt, but the co held a mini-crusade and got me axed.. nothing personal,.... just business.

  Obviously they aren't just happy to shun people that are DF'd or just happy controlling everyone in the cong.. so to add to everything else they tell you you can and can't do they need to tell you where or where not to work.

  Shepherd #3 - To Shun or not to Shun

  young, brother b: as noted in story number two, many shepherding visits, maybe the majority, are one-on-one sessions where an elder talks privately with an individual, often someone in the elders book study group, and just as often with jws that an elder simply decides for personal reasons he wants to try and help.. the case of brother b was one of these latter situations.

  i met he and his family when i first became a jw in the late 1960s.

  brother b was about 8 years old at the time.

  Sad indeed. On the bright side though at least he was smart enough to stay away and you eventually broke free as well. Something good came out in the end for both of you that way.

  After I DA'd and was in the Navy I always wondered what they would think If I went to a meeting when I was on leave in full dress uniform.. hehehehe Always wanted to do that just to piss em off but never did. Ah well... One thing for sure they wouldn't be able to call me a slob..LOL

  happy witnesses?

  i attended sunday meetings at least half a dozen times.

  what i noticed is that the witnesses seem to be very happy people.

  is that true or just a fassade?

  Thinking back in my old KH, I think some of them were probably happy people, but most of the ones I knew on a deeper level were not as happy as they'd have you think.

  It's sad because they're just doing the robot thing, putting on the good face because that is what the Org tells them they should do.
