Excuses to avoid Field Service

what are some excuses used by jw's to avoid going in field service, that others didn't question or hold against the person?

Hi:

I have not posted in a long time because we moved from New York to Florida in 2003 and I have just been so busy.

However, I never gave any excuses to anyone. If I did not want to go out in field service and did not. If someone asked me why I was not out, I simply told them I have other things to do.

Plain and simple. I never cared what other persons thought or said. I was always a rebel.

P.S.- The JW's here in South Florida are worse than up North, in New York City, etc. They have not a 'clue' about what is going on in the organization. They are clearly 'robots'.

Guilt and Infidelilty

recently a poster shared with us that her father had committed infidelity.

then 3-5 years later, decides he can no longer live with the guilt and confesses to his wife.

he alone with his actions turned the entire family upside down.

This is Ronin1. I have not been on the forum for months because we have relocated to Hollywood, Florida and have been very busy. But I had to respond to this post when I read it. He should have confessed a long time ago. I am thinking more of the medical and physical harm he could have brought to his wife-that of STD's . If for three (3) to five (5) years or after she started having infections or problems, such as HPV-which may not show up for years or HIV, etc., could be because of his infidelity and he could have given it to her. HPV may not show up for years and it can cause serious problems later in life. And we all know what HIV does. Ruining his family is not the only problem he may have done. Ronin1

DID CLARA GET JUSTICE?

a dentist from houston, clara harris, was found guilty of murder and sentenced to twenty years yesterday, for running over her husband with her mercedes and killing him, in a fit of rage, after confronting him and his girlfriend in a local hotel.

now mrs. harris already knew about her husband's infidelity with the other woman, had even discussed with her husband how the two of them compared, and was apparently still trying to salvage their marriage.

but after the confrontation inside the hotel, she lost it and ultimately ran him over multiple times with her automobile, killing him.

No guns, clubs, weapons, etc.

I am only 45 years old. I have too much living to do.

Like I said, I like my freedom too-----------much to through it away for any man. Where's there's one man, there's another.

Now that doesn't mean that I do not love my husband, I do. But I look at things differently. I was a single parent for 15 years and took care of myself. I will not die or lose it if I am alone again. So if my husband or any man does not love me enough to be faithful, so be it.

I will survive.

Plain and simple: she lost it. After obviously a long period of time dealing with his infidelity, she saw him with his girlfriend/lover and lost her reasoning and just killed him. Should she have done that? No. She should have cleaned him out financially with a divorce.

My husband and I were discussing this just this morning and he said would I do that to him if he committed adultery. I told him I would not waste my time or energies giving up my freedom and going to jail for him. I told him if he wanted to do that, just "knock" himself out and go ahead. Of course, I said, I would leave you in a second because any mate who does that deliberately doesn't not deserve me and I would not stand for anyone to disrespect me like that.

Bottom line: I like my freedom too--------much to go to jail for any man.

I WAN'T TO COME BACK TO THE TRUTH.....!

hello everyone.my name is richard and i would like to come back to the truth.i never did get baptized so im not disfellowshiped.my family are still all in the truth,and there lives are so much better than mine.satan has taked over my life completly.and ive had enough.i want to turn my life around and ask jehovah to come back into my heart.i have a very serious drug and alcohol problem.and do not want to live my life like this anymore.i know my life will get better if i let jehovah back in.im just scarred right now.i sill have a little deamon that keeps telling me not to do this.but i really want to.i sure could use some words of encouragement if anyone would like to help i sure would apriciate it.and does anyone know if i can get publcations online...?

Hi Rich:

If you want to get better, you do not need to "come back to the truth". What you need to do is get your life spiritually back to Jehovah God based on the Bible, not a religious organization. That means coming to terms with what you need to do to correct your situation and certainly praying to Jehovah God to give you the strength to do so. The Watchtower organization will not help you do this. Only you can take the steps to correct your bad habits and make yourself a better person.

Please enroll in a drug/alcohol program to get you straight along with therapy. Believe me, the Watchtower organization will not help you or encourage you to do this. Only you can along with prayer to Jehovah God.

Come on! NOTHING is Going To Refrom the WT!

this whole "reform" nonsense is driving me up the wall.. nothing is going to "reform" the wtbts.

nobody is going to "reform" the wtbts.. crying out loud, be realistic about this.

we have a group of men who have at least some faith & belief that what they do is "divinely" approved, and they have 6 million suckers who follow.

The only "reform" is when we as individuals come into the "light" and realize the WTS is not the true religion.

Then "we" "reform" ourselves and make the necessary changes not to be "suckered" by the WTS.

as so much of their doctrines are based on interpretation.. the watchtower society may have interpreted the bible... correctly!

Even if the Watchtower is correct, it still boils down to each individual's relationship with Jehovah God and Jesus Christ.

And since so many of the things taught by the Watchtower is not really based from the Bible and they have done and allowed so much corruption, unethical conduct by elders, etc and the governing body, they cannot be too right.

It all boils down to each one's individual relationship with Jehovah God and Jesus Christ.

I live in Queens, New York.

The young people in New York City are resilient. They believe what they want to believe-even 5 yr olds.

I feel this school teacher made a "mountain out of a molehill". Her allowing the students to draw and display holiday art would in no way take away from her religious beliefs.

If a person is sincere and really strong in their beliefs, no matter what anyone else says or does can change that.

She is an employee of the Board of Education. If the principal wanted that display board done, the teacher should have complied.

This teacher either has faith in her religious beliefs or she doesn't.

Now I am grandmother..........babysitting.

Could never pay enough.
