  Their silence might be some unheard of thing called deference to the judiciary.

  Nope. It's more "we can't pin this one on Bush so why waste our energy." I wouldn't be surprised to find out that these individuals have their pockets lines with cash from big time developers who can now steal land from the working class.

  Yeah, maybe Bush and his cronies are pro-big business but at least they don't go around pretending to be for the little guy.

  But this goes beyond right vs. left, every home owner and any worried that believes in the fundamental right of private property should be outraged.

  I agree. I just wish I saw one senator or congressman on the news with the balls to saw "This ruling is bullshit!"

  Another bad decision from the worthless Supreme Court. At one time, this Court served a purpose. Now they're just yes men/women for King George.

  Better check your facts and see which judges where totally in favor of this ruling, which were in the middle and which were against it. BTW, I haven't seen Kerry, Clinton or Kenndy voice any kind of protest in the media.

  the society loves to claim there was an unprecedented amount of peace prior to 1914 and that wwi was a complete shock to the world when it began.

  The Boer War (1899-1902) <100,000

  Russo-Japanese War (1904-05) 150,000

  Among others.

  American Civil war....over 600,000 died.

  what are some paranoid dub conspiracy theories that you've heard?

  a dub i chatted with a week ago got all frothing-at-the-mouth excited as he told me one.

  some people are trying to have a law passed in canada that will make any gay's who want to serve in a priesthood of their church allowable, regardless of the church's policy.

  With home PC's becoming popular in the early / mid-80's, certain JWs created "congregation phone lists" (an informal list of all the names and numbers of the JW families) and circulated them among congregation member. I recall during one visit, the CO stated from the platform that Crooklyn was worried that lists like these could be used by the government to round us up and this practice was to be discontinued. LOL! Was funny how scared people were. Everyone went home and ripped up their lists. Ironic thing was, it probably made it easier for the elders to actually round people up.

  I got Lynn Swan's autograph when I was in high school...he was a retired football player, used to play for the patriots...was there to talk about drugs etc.

  i gotta know.... what was the wierdest or craziest things you saw people do or say during a jc?.

  example... i swore if i was ever called into a jc again... i would wait about 10 minutes into the meeting, stand up and pull my pants down to my ankles, throw a chair through the plate glass windows in the "backroom" and then jump out screaming "get away from me....aaahhg!

  " i would make sure there were witnesses in the hall to see it.. i want only real experiences.... u/d

  You may be right Neon. However, the C.O. that "shared" this experience wasn't saying it was something he heard from Crooklyn. If I remember correctly he said it happened it the circuit he served in right before coming to our circuit.

  Anointed disfellowshipping replacement reinstatement

  an elders wife told my wife today that yes there are young anointed people because they are replacements for those who have fallen away.

  she also said that if an anointed should fall away and then get reinstated they are still anointed.

  i can just picture jesus spending 6 months or so picking out a suitable replacement in disgust at the one he picked first time around fell away.

  I asked this question when I was a kid (again showing how even a child can see the problems with this belief)

  I was told "an annointed one cannot change their heavenly hope to an earthly one" meaning if they are df'd and come back, they're back on the anointed list. If they don't come back, the Big J finds a replacement. We had an anointed one come back after being df'd for 10 years. This must have pissed Jahovaboba off.

  At an elder's meeting with the C.O., he shared with us his an experience he was somehow involved in. A JC of three elders was meeting with a "sister" (not sure what about) and they ended up raping her. She went to the other elders but no one believed her because the three scumbag elders denied the whole thing.

  Anyway, years later one of the elders spilled the beans and all three were kicked out. Somehow I think he was trying to relate to us how Jehovah takes care of things in time. Yeah, nice example jackass. Just made me wonder what else these asshole had done before "Jehovah took care of the matter."
