RR, are there still BS alive from that original group?
Had you asked me 10 years ago, I would have said yes. But I don't know anyone from the original split that is still living. Consider if they were 18 years old at the time of the split, they would be 108 today, anyone of significance would be much older. Of course there were various splits in the Watchtower, in the late 20s and early 30s. I do know some who were around then, still living. RR

Was someone from the original 1918 breakaway involved in making this publication? Just curious.
The book was authored by Charles Redeker, a Bible Student. If by "original" one who brokeaway in 1918, then no, but if you mean by one of the groups that was formed after the death of Russell, then yes. RR

C'mon, RR, you've got to know what a bogus and evasive argument that is!
Okay - Russell wasn't a prophet, but whatever prophets he was relying on to provide his personal glimpse of the world of tomorrow were full of crap, so Russell was selling second-hand crap.
Natan, I can't argue with an athiest.

found this online, for those of you who don't know, during the 1960s and 1970s, the watchtower society occasionally used the translation of the new testament by johannes greber to support their similar renderings of john 1:1 and matthew 27:52,53. in 1983 they officially stopped using his translation because of its "close rapport with spiritism.
" the information that geber was a spiritist was readily available to the society's writers.
in 1955 and 1956 the society's writers themselves wrote of greber's spiritism.

Their use of Greber's translation to support their New World Translation and their explanations for it is evidence of shallow scholarship.
Johannes Greber was a Catholic priest turned spiritist who translated the New Testament "with the help of God's spirits." His experiences with spirits and their communications with him are related in his book, Communication With the Spirit World published in 1932.
Greber's translation reads similarly to the New World Translation at Jn. 1:1 and Matt. 27:52,53. The Society quoted and referred to it in support of their controversial renderings of these verses in material they published from 1961 to 1976.

i read in wikapedia about joseph f. rutherford that according to the san diego coroner's report that he was dead days before that date of death in jan,1942.
he had rat bites on his head and hands.
i thought he died in bed but he was found on a flight of stairs.
I've been saying this for year. As the story goes, the Judge was suppose to give a talk at a local convention, but never showed up, so they went to pay him a visit. They found him in the cellar being eaten by rats. This I was told by old time Bible Students who knew him.
He apparently in an already druken stupor went down to the cellar to get some more booze, tripped and hit his head, the rats had a feast. Now you can't published that God's great Bible expositor and scholar tripped over his own feet and got eaten by rats, so they made up the story that he died peacefully in bed, with Franz, Knorr and MacMillan at his side.

of course you know the answer... how ironic.
i swear, jehovah's witnesses only come when i'm hanging out in sweatpants and a tank top with no bra on.
if i am wearing a bra, they don't come.
I can see it now, next Saturday, "hey, remember that chick with no bra?, let's go knock on her door"!

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/05/17/ron-paul-revolution-still-very-much-alive.aspx?source=nl.
ron paul is still in the race and gaining support from delegates every day.
he came in second in pennsylvania, but amazingly, after ron paul supporters managed to get a rule changed, which positions them for more national convention delegate slots than previously expected, the nevada gop abruptly cancelled their own state convention and left.. people who had traveled from near and far, and had spent 10 hours at the convention, were prevented from casting their votes.. "after a super-majority of ron paul supporters captured control of the republican state convention saturday, state party officials abruptly canceled the event without electing delegates to the national convention," reported the reno gazette journal.
I don't vote for obvious reasons, but Ron Paul is the onlyt one who makes any sense.Of all the candidadtes, he is the only one who has given his platform from a to z, while the others candidadates throw around their old cliches' of "Change" and "difference."

She also helped in compiling the Watch Tower's Berean Bible, or BIble Students Manual. As berean stated, she is noted mostly for compiling the "Daily Heavenly Manna", the Society daily devotional.
In 1926 she put together a new "Manna" book, with and gave it to the Judge. He discarded it. He hated everything to do with Russell. Later that year the Society put together the Yearbook with their own devotional.
Gertrude Seibert left the Society (she worked at Bethel), not because they wouldn't publish her book, but because they had deviated so much from what she believed to be the Truth. She died in the 1930s.
