Is it all Rutherfords fault?

it has been said that the gb are just followers of followers.. they had belived a lie all their lives and have taught others the same.. in another post i've disscussed how i'd like to know more about russell and rutherford.. were they followers of followers or corupt.. many seem to point to rutherford as the bad guy.. even in the societies own books he seems to come off as a dodgy guy.. was russell guenuine in his belief , or was he courupt too?.

so who is mostly to blame for the jw religon russell or rutherford?.

or is it ourselves ,did we just decive ourselves and seek to pass the blame when the truth dawned?.

I'm not going to go into it, but i am curious if you believe in russels pyramidology also.

You know I've been fellowshipping with Bible Students for some ten years now and we have never really studied the pyramid issue.

I must say I find it all very interesting and do believe there is something to it's design. But my faith is in the Scriptures not the pyramid, my theology comes from scriptures not the pyramid.

That being said one of our sister ecclesias just published a newsletter on the subject of the pyramid, and I must say it was well written and gives you something to think about.

I recall some years ago in the 1980s looking at a KM and in the "Announcements" section it stated that the book "The Battle of Armageddon" was out of stock. This book was one of the volumes of the "Studies in the Scriptures" series by C.T. Russell. So apparently, the book was still available for purchase by the Society.

My wife and I have been meeting with a group of Bible Students for the past ten years or so. A very pleasant bunch, and very Christ oriented. Although they use Russell's writings as reference material, in the same way others use commentaries, they encourage open questions, and really get into the meat of the matter. Sometime you agree, other times you may not agree. But they agree to disagree. There is no shunning or Dfing for theological differences.

What church should I go to now?

they all have the american flag, crosses, and symbols.

if i go to the kingdom hall i will just get shunned and i do need association.

my husband won't let me take my son to a church.

Do JWs still believe the WT version of the 144000?

the society have taught for many years that only 144,000 individuals will have embraced true worship from the time when jesus (and presumably john the baptist six months before him) began his ministry in about 30 c.e.

when the great crowd began to be drawn in.. however, even a casual reading of the book of acts shows the phenomenal growth of christianity during the time of the apostles.

in colossians ch1 paul even makes the comment that the good news had at that point been preached to all creation that was under heaven.. in 64 c.e, there were so many christians in rome already that nero felt he could easily blame them for the destructive fire which had swept through the city.

Considering that the Scriptures tell us that "many are called and few are chosen" one would see that an average of 73 persons a year since 33 were chosen to be of the 144,000 class. Not so unbelievable when you consider what this class is all about.

Personally, although I believe that the Church, the bride of Christ is made up of 144,000, I also believe that the great company is also a heavenly class which serves God, NOT on the throne, as the 144,000 but BEFORE the throne as servants.

I believe this is more in harmony with scriptures. IT is also a view held by the Society during the Russell years.

Having done some careful research in this area. I think it is safe to say that the JW's today are the children of one man, Judge Rutherford. Everything the Watchtower is, is due to his practices and theology.

British JWs ignoring the GB.

when we have american jw relatives visit they are frequently shocked at the difference between how they live their lives and how jws over here live.

its almost as if we are from two different religions.. that divide seems to be getting wider.

i have noticed in the past two or three years a noticeable relaxation among british jws.

This isn't anything new. My wife was part of the French congregation, before we married and she moved to the English. She was shocked at what she saw in the English. She told me "something must have gotten lost in the translation." She couldn't believe how blindly the E glish speaking frtiends followed and ate up everything that was served by the Society.

I met another JW sister from Europe and she told me "The further away one is from Bethel, the freer they are."

If you went to any online music store, you would see that!

Do you understand the signigicance of yelling "Fire" in a crowded theatre, or making a "Bomb" comment at the airport or onboard an aircraft? Would you tell the authorities,"Why---I was referring to a musical group called, "Fire", or "Bomb"?

I made no such claim, I was referring to the Heavy Metal rodck band ANTHRAX, I have some old CD's I'm trying to get rid of :) As far as the USPS next to my name. I work for the UNited States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier.

Mr.Rodriguez, I understand, is an active member in the watchtower religion. This raises the interesting question, Does the WTS supply Anthrax to its members to mail to people who disagree with its theology? Would this subscriber be over-reacting if he sent the F.B.I details of this threat? Details can be confirmed in the Reply bag of the posting, The Watchtower Society In The Zionist Conspiracy.
