Symbolically drinking the blood of your dead deity - good

does it ever seem to you like you're working against yourself?.
why is it so difficult to do what is in our best interest?
why don't we exercise more, eat .
I am a firm believer in positive thinking. Your mind tends to produce the results that you expect of it. I've seen and experienced it too many times to think otherwise.
I would also like to add that, the more things you do, the more things happen to you. When you are out making good stuff happen, more good stuff falls in your lap. As the bronze age goatherd's manual used to say, To him who has, more will be given. For example, a few years ago, my daughter took the initiative to start modeling. It took a lot of effort, but she made something of it. Then, completely by accident, an opportunity came up to buy the agency. Today, my wife owns it.
I also dispute the idea that every success requires a corresponding failure. In some areas, like sports, that may be true. But in many areas, like education, there is plenty of success to go around.
seeing as i have the wt in front of me today, i thought you'd enjoy the questions from readers from the february 15, 2007 article on the evils and pagan origins on toasting or clinking of glasses.
the article specifically mentions how not everything today that was of pagan origin is necessarily bad, and sites "wedding rings" as being of pagan origin, but it's not viewed like that now.
then, incredibly, they go on and say that while toasting might not be considered a religious practice today, there's "good reason" for christians to avoid it------without giving any valid reason why other than: do as we say:.
What I find utterly hypocritical is that they fully recognize the pagan origins of wedding rings and using wine in religious ceremonies (like the memorial), yet they only apply the prohibition to some items. They also forget that baptism began among pagans.
yes, folks, the all-wise, all-knowing, all-seeing watchtower society peers into and explores all possibilities of thought and logic.
yes, right back to our beginnings they look at how adam needed to determine who would serve as his companion ... and where did he search?.
"before god created anything new, a woman, god left the man free to determine whether there was a suitable companion for him among all the lower animals.
Seems odd that Jehoba didn't know that mating cannot occur between different species. He must have flunked out of biology. But, then, he was the guy who made plants before he made the sun.
And, as for Adam, I bet he noticed that the moose had a nice rack, and the ass had a nice... well.... ass.

I hereby declare a Fatwa on Seeker4.
And, I am deeply offended that people believe atheism cannot be fundamentalist. I have long declared that I am an orthodox fundamentalist atheist. If God himself comes to earth and taps me on the shoulder, I will still not believe in him.

There is a really sickening story out of Libya where 4 Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor have been convicted and sentenced to death for supposedly infecting hundreds of children with HIV. In reality, the HIV was transmitted by poor standards in the Libyan health system, and these five people are being made the scapegoats. Libya is willing to release them for a large sum of cash.
The stupidity of some of these places just boggles the mind.

In my life I've had a few heros. Isaac Asimov was the first - not for his fiction, but for his non-fiction. Carl Sagan was the next. He was a great debunker and advocate of common sense. I miss them both.
The next was Richard Dawkins. I am pleased that he has not only taken up the mantle of the other two, but is even more outspoken.
By the way, his documentary seems to be along the same lines as my article "It Brings Bad Things to Life". I wonder if he's beeen plagierizing me. I mean, as an atheist, he obviously must have no morals.
a post on another topic got me thinking of this .
what was the longest bible study you knew of ???.
i knew a couple of pioneer sisters who had studies that lasted about 6 years, maybe they were longer...............they never came to the meetings and when i accompanied a sister on hers.
My mother had one that lasted at least five years. When she studied with the lady, sometimes I went along and studied in another room with the kids. I was around 10 at the time.
Then the 6 month guideline came along. So, she studied another 6 months a broke it off. Both of them were quite sad.
i got this email and i thought i would share.
i got a chuckle out of it.
at morning worship with the bethel family, bro.
The co-worker asks: "Aren't they the ones that don't accept blood
transfusions?" "Yes", the driver replies. "But look at how well dressed and
well behaved their children are. I wish my children were the same."
The co-worker asks: "Aren't they the ones that withhold necessary medical treatments and allow their children to die?"
"Yes," the driver replies, "But look at how well dressed they are."
i'm not sure if anyone's posted this yet, but here are the figures for the 2006 service report.
i highlighted the countries that have either a "0" or negative growth in yellow and i highlighted key countries where the you would expect more growth......i tried looking for england's stats, but i couldn't see it.
i looked under "england" and "united kingdom" but i can't see it.
I notice that the number of baptisms decreased by 14,000. This is lowest since 1988.
Indeed, God is "slowing things down in his own due time". Clearly, the work is nearly done. The door will soon be closed. I'm already practicing gnashing my teeth.
