Just Had My Elder Visit

i just got through talking to a couple of elders, they both had moved here from other places, one from fla and one from wis. i can't remember their names.

they said the society had instructed them to call on all inactive ones.. they were nice to me, but had the same old answers that i used to present.

i brought up a lot of things for them to think about, but their minds have been carefully programed so it didn't register.

Regarding having a bible study again (indoctrination therapy) perhaps a good way would be to agree to a study starting with the 607bce prophecy. !!!

Then, on the understanding that this particular subject has been dealt with satisfactory to both parties (theocratically of course) you could then ask them to study with you re: the Wild Beast of Revelation etc. You know what I'm getting at - the list is endless, the time spent in answering these types of questions could qualify them as special pioneers :)

Do all witnesses shun you?

there are always a few tender hearted, who know that shunning is stupid and keep on talking to df'd people, when no one is looking.

are there still a few who keep on talking to you, even if you are df'd?

i'm sure that elders wouldn't shun you if you talk to them, so why do others have to shun you?

At present we haven't noticed any shunning, but then we haven't seen anyone from the congregation, for quite a few months, but of course, this could all change (awaiting the Jan, Feb or March elders visit)

As a recent ex JW, since coming on this board, I must say how disturbed and upset I am at the amount of shunning that has been going on. Obviously, being in the Organisation for many years, I was aware that this went on, and I got into many problems because I wouldn't accept the Organisation's direction on shunning. I could not equate it with Luke 15...the prodigal son parable.

I think this action, that seems to be organisation policy, is the most cruel, vicious, unchristian act , anyone or organisation can be involved in, and any christian looking on (here on this forum) ask yourself - do you really believe that Jesus would act like this and do you think that Jehovah is backing this action ?

But what a clever way of keeping the JWs from finding out the REAL TRUTH.

Why do Some Ex-JWs go Wacko?

i don't intend to offend anybody with this post, so please excuse me if i do.

i have often wondered why some people that leave the wt organisation go really weird.

there is a couple near me who left a couple of years ago.

After thirty years of cruelty and lies from "You Know Who", I can understand some who are suddenly freed from that purgatory. It's also like releasing a cork from a champagne bottle, it all depends how shook up you've been, at what speed the cork comes out ! We've recently come out but my wife and I are stable enough in our lives, to continue without an organisation, as we have great love for Jehovah and Jesus. But then we consider ourselves fortunate, that we are not shunned by our families and friends and we realise that all situations can be so different.

Interesting discussion with some JWs

i had some jws visit me today and meet for the first time.

the time has left me feeling sad and confused.

i learnt some interesting things about these two individuals.. firstly, the man launched straight into his 'good news'.

unknown to me disassociation

i am new to all of this, even tho i have not been going to the meetings for nearly 4 years now, through the basic hypocrisy that i faced and the witch hunt i have had to put up with over the last few years.

because i dare to expose the bent dealings of a car salesmen, who happened to be a p>o> i tried to ignore all of this and thought let them get on with it.

my wife continued going to the meetings, and was shunned the whole 4 years, despite both of us being very active members of the cong.

I can understand the slight pangs of guilt re: speaking out, I felt the same way when I first started on this board.

But ask yourself, do you think Jehovah is backing an org. that has been a member of the U.N. for ten years, (unknown to us the rank & file), the failed prophecies, the handling of paedophilia etc. Lev. 5.v1. Tells you to report it, even if it's only to us who may be viewing, remember there are many onlookers in the heavens, who are also watching.

As regards the elders, they will have to make an account of themselves one day, if they would only accept that Jer. 10.v 23 applies to them also, then perhaps they would treat people in a more humane way. I found them to be, in general, people who have little principles, ones who have to toe the party line.

This will be no excuse for them as James 3 v 1 puts a heavier judgment on them to do what is scriptually correct.

Young 'Hovahs Out in Field Service.....

they just seem to not exist.

in my daily travels, in fact i rarely see any 'hovahs out in service, let alone young ones.

she is a teller at my bank, and a hottie, too!

Perhaps they are going for higher education, nothing against window cleaners but perhaps they want something more out of life.

There was so many who put off this vocation who probably regret it now, I could never go with this argument as Jesus had a higher education when he was trained as a carpenter.

Let's examine this picture more carefully

this is a picture of a new kingdom hall from a post several months ago.

i was looking at the entryway and noticed two chairs by the door and thought it was a strange place for two chairs.

are these chairs put there for the use of the "ancient prophets of old" if they should visit the kh?

Your problem is obvious, it's the same as mine - you are obviously a man of principle. There's no room in the Organisation for people with principles.

The apostle Paul wasn't a "yes" man, but it seems, to get on in the Organisation, you have to be just that.

You are justified in feeling angry, but a cool head is certainly needed when dealing with these ones. Remember there's an old saying - "when the lion sits down for a meal with the lamb, only one of them enjoys the mint sauce" !!

Oh, by the way, welcome to the board, we look forward to hearing from you again, keep us informed.
