  I have a tape in my home somewhere, that tells of a person who infiltrated the Wts for the sole purpose of finding facts for some eastern country (whether it is authentic or not who knows), at the time I had no doubts of it’s contents.

  Anyway the person was baptised, became M/S, then elder, arriving at the position of C.O.

  He then handed all the addresses of the brothers and sisters to his superiors.

  Did God who knew the intentions of this person STILL appoint him in all these POSITIONS !!!! Every step of the way.?

  In most cases the person is not asked or told of his immanent change (to elder).

  Therefore if a person has a problem (whatever) if he discloses it, it will be very obvious to the congregation that there is something wrong with that person, this person was not given the right time to make any adjustments.

  So rather than allow the congregation to arrive at their own thoughts, the person will inevitably keep quite, thus another "Spiritual Leader" who does not meet the strict requirements set out in the scriptures.

  It was a constant gripe of mine to hear them say they have been appointed by "Holy Spirit", the guide lines set out in 1Tim. 3 1-11.

  Verse 6 "do not appoint newly converted man, for fear he might get puffed up with pride and fall into judgement.

  Was god speaking to himself, or was this a directive to someone else.

  Verse 10. Let these be tested as to fitness first………………………….

  How are they tested first………..in most cases their private lives are just that very private.

  This was a perfect tool for the elders to have mastery over the r/f.

  i'd rather stick needles in my eyes.

  my son has invited me to his kh to hear the co's talk.

  can anyone recall the question from readers saying it was ok to help a df person in difficulty?.

  least i think it was a qfr - it cited examples like helping someone change a tyre at the roadside, or giving a single df lady a lift home from the meeting in the evening, or somesuch..... any takers?.

  If you were rowing across a lake in your dingy and you saw someone drowning,

  Would you leave him to drown even if he was disfellowshiped.

  There answer was then…………… NO YOU DON’T.

  Did You Ever "Learn" Anything Because You Went To The Meetings?

  years ago, you could attend a meeting and hear a well researched talk or give an answer from the watchtower that had some "meat" on it.

  i remember in the 70s when witnesses used to look forward to ruminating on what might be a "new point" or a veiled possible new understanding of a doctrinal view.. these days, the only thing you could learn from a meeting is that brother so-and-so got deleted or "is no longer a witness".. what a bore!.

  Yes I found that man has got a long way to go to reach perfection,

  I found the leadership to be immature, judgmental, arrogant, bloated with their own ego lacking in all common sense, prepared to break rules themselves that they may have just brought in for the congregation.

  Any News on Pioneer Hrs Decreasing or Whether COs will be Ending?

  a few months ago there were some fairly authoritative threads that the pioneer hours were being decreased.

  that has not happened.

  also, there was a thread that the co arrangement was going to be dramatically changed in the next year or two, and i got some private notes from some excellent sources attesting to that.

  As far as I know this was a position that received payment for services?

  Perhaps they are taking this amount of time because of working out if severance/redundancy pay has to be paid out, some of these C.O.’s have been there quite a few years.
