  Is "Old Light" really called independent thinking?

  when "old light" becomes "new light" sometime down the line the "new light" will eventually become old.

  i do realize the superiors use passages (aka word magic) to explain such a big change.

  what would be the difference between holy spirit revelation vs. man's opinion in this particular situation?

  Apostate: From 279 Facebook friends to 81 overnight... thanks MOM!

  the drama continues, i log on to facebook this morning and notice that i have about 20 some odd personal messages from people calling me an apostate to they will return to me when i return to jehovah.. all of this based upon my brother informing others that i have "apostate thoughts".

  my mother also encourage long-time famil friends to "unfriend" me because i have taken my stand on the side of satan... wow.

  don't you just love this international brotherhood.

  i have been lurking here for months now, and i just decided to post here and actually interact with this community.

  i have a very specific/unordinary life, so i will not divulge too much information to protect my privacy.

  i am a baptized publisher who is under the age of 25 who attends college, and i do have responsiblities within the congregation.

  In 20 years time when all of the educated ones in the WTBTS are dead/put out to pasture, they will reverse this teaching and champion the merits of being educated.

  Then all the dubs will say "Yes, that makes sense".

  Your education is so important. Miss out now and regret it for the rest of your life - just look at the stories on here of those who did just that and now regret it.

  You could always say you intend to join the other lawyers, hedge fund managers, doctors, architects, dentists... in bethel once you have qualified.

  60k is a lot of money, it is also blackmail and control. With a good education you will make that up in a few years.

  i've been officially accused of "thinking too much".. i've tried to quit thinking, but i'm hoplessly addicted to it.i just can't seem to turn my brain off.. at times duing my school years i was accused of not thinking enough.

  now i'm guilty of thinking too much!.

  the brother even went on to say "could you imagine what the witness organisation if everyone was thinking independently like you do"?

  Hi!

  Don't feel you are under obligation to explain yourself to everyone who are not entitled to pry into your business - take advice from the Insight Book:

  *** it-2 p. 244 Lie ***

  "Lying generally involves saying something false to a person who is entitled to know the truth and doing so with the intent to deceive or to injure him or another person."

  Basis this you can, with a clean conscience, plan your exit strategy and misdirect those who are trying to interfere but have no business in interfering.

  If you are young and still in academia then why not try moving. The change of circumstances and environment will make everything so much more easy.

  i noticed over the years how bros & sis(tm) would pronounce words/names differently or totally substitute them so as not to sound offensive.. egs:.

  instead of 'bible aids' a bro(tm) said 'bible helps' thus avoiding aids disease!?!.

  instead of sodom the bro(tm) pronounced it 'sow dom'.

  I once had the announcements halfway through the Thursday meeting.

  The brother on the sound had screwed up the song I introduced by playing the wrong one, playing another wrong one, then finally getting it right.

  At the end of the song I said: "Well we finally got it right, Third time..." (pause for effect, audience do a collective intake of breath) "...successful". (Congregation let out a sigh of relief).

  Oh I love to tease.

  Given their propensity to quote mine and spin, I wonder what they left out of the story.

  "Now one year later their small flock had increased to more than 60 chickens".

  How many chickens were they left with after the 19 died? They could have been left with 59 chickens - we just don't know.

  Did the chickens reproduce as we are being led to believe, or did they have to buy some more - we just don't know.

  As usual, all unverifiable.
