  im sure you all have heard at one point or read that being an elder or ms isnt a position higher up but rather that you work under the congregation.. anthony morris just threw that out the window!

  i have privileges in the congregation and even i was offended and felt bad for anyone who was 23 or older and not a ms!.

  he goes on to tell this story of how a sister wanted to marry a brother and that anthony morris discouraged it because he was 23 and not an ms yet.

  By this logic, AM 3rd is super, duper, mega, uber spiritual, because he sits at the top of the tree!
  It is his position, not his works, that make him sooooo spiritual.

  It would be interesting to know if any of the GB, dead or alive, were unappointed at 23 years old.

  Were any of these recently convicted pedo's elders or MS's?
  If so, they were obviously very spiritual pedo's, since they had such a high position in the congregation.

  the borg has many inconsistencies, when the topic is helping humble and honest people achieve their full potential.

  consider a working man who works 40 to 60 hours a week and still manages to show up to all the meetings, participate, do all of his assigned work within the kh, but his ministry has slipped to 8 hours per month.

  this same man is working hard to move up within the ranks only to get shut down without even knowing.. .

  These men are afraid of doing wrong so crave rules for themselves. Without rules they would be out of their depths, lost.

  Because they have given their mind's away they think everyone else needs nannying too.

  Let them get on with it. The only one who can change their minds on this (actually give them different rules that they will love) is the CO.

  So what is it called when you change your mind BACK to something you USED to teach, but had since 'thoroughly disproved'?

  Is that progress? Regress? Madness? Source of stress? Implausibleness? Stupidness? Gullibleness?

  What it means, Gustv, is that you will personally believe whatever you are told to believe, because you have given up your own thinking ability and handed it over to somebody else to think on your behalf.

  Your beliefs can be changed again at a moments notice. You will say "Oh, that makes sense!"
  Then they will change back, and you will say "Oh, that makes sense!"

  There's a name for vacuous people like you.

  These sort of elders love their position and power.
  They are corrupted by it - they wield fear as a weapon and relish that.

  I say let him get on with it.
  He has no friends, just sycophants and wannabee's - mostly immature men who are desperate for his approval.

  In life, and I mean real life, you don't need him, his approval, or his 'privileges'.

  If you want to knock the wind out of his sails then you will live your life free from his demands and influence.

  Dismiss him like the nobody that he is.

  The abusers issue is of no consequence.
  There will always be abusers and predators among any one conglomerate.
  Predators/abusers are everywhere regardless.
  Actually, for the number of existing JWs, the number of abuse cases is really minuscule.
  You all just need to learn to accentuate the positive of life in general.

  I'm certain Jesus would approve of the delicate and compassionate way you offer such empathetic love.

  Indeed, if this 'faith-testing' is true and from the WT itself, it indicates a huge arrogance on their part. I did a search in the WT-Library of "stumbl*." There is a massive amount of NT counsel not to intentionally test others faith: Mt 13:41; 16:23; 17:27; 18:6, 7; Rom 14:13, 21; 16:17; 1Co 8:9, 13; 10:32; 2Co 6:3; 11:29; Php 1:10; 1J 2:10; Rev 2:14.

  Since I like Bobcat's (infrequent) comments and find them insightful, I've listed the scriptures he referenced.

  (Matthew 13:41) The Son of man will send his angels, and they will collect out from his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling and people who practice lawlessness.
