The 1995 Generation Change

i was just a teenager and have a vivid memory of sitting in a chair doing a microphone for the sunday meeting.

everyone was commenting that it didn't mean the end was far off, and it didn't change the condition of the dead, or the 144,000, or the trinity so we should still remain faithful.

this is my first memory as a kid being just a teen that i ever had a single doubt.

well this is huge on so many levels.

one they new it was contaminated back a few years ago so why move your headquarters there?

Brokeback Watchtower I can never believe that they bought that land without some type of research done as to what type of waste material a nickle processing company might dump there and have experts examine the area for this type of thing because it is utter stupidity.

You know how the WT works.
Find a 'spiritually qualified' volunteer to do the work. It doesn't matter if they know what they're doing or not so long as they're 'spiritually qualified'.

Seen this a thousand time on builds, with assignments and at conventions.

It's a great way to waste kingdom funds.

The Kids Go To Work - Eve's Creation Tidbit

fred franz, and queries him about eve being created in the same year as adam.. he refers franz to the aid book, (topic: eve - p. 538) which states that: .

The Aid book was released in 1971 and it was important that this teaching, that Eve was created in the same year as Adam, appeared in it.

A few years prior to this in 1968, the WT had boldly stated that it was "logical for God to create Eve a few weeks or months later, in the same year" as Adam was created (w68 5/1 p.271 par.4).
What this 'logic' consisted of, was never disclosed.

The real reason, of course, was that "stay alive until '75" had been sold to the excited faithful for a number of years, and for WT's calculations to end up at the critical date of 1975 the WT needed Eve to be born in the same year as Adam.

If there was any length of time between Adam and Eve being created, the date for Armageddon could not be 1975, and at that time there was no doubt at all that that date was indeed 1975!

It is therefore no coincidence that immediately after 1975 was demonstrated to be a complete prophetic failure, then the date for Eve's creation also had to be recalculated.

Hence w76 7/15 p.437 par.25 gave the hastily adjusted view that "We do not know whether it was a brief time such as a month or a few months, a year or even more" after Adam. It seems their earlier logic wasn't quite so logical after all.

The WT of July 15th 1976 chastised those for getting ahead of themselves and believing in 1975 by saying
"If anyone has been disappointed through not following this line of thought [that Bible chronology does not reveal a specific date], he should now concentrate on adjusting his viewpoint, seeing that it was not the word of God that failed or deceived him and brought disappointment, but that his own understanding was based on wrong premises."

There, panic over. What were YOU thinking?

(ezekiel 18:4) someone has to be first-born which does not give him any superiority over others!

interestingly, jesus simply dismissed the whole idea of one being placed over the others as pagan.

In 1922 the WT was saying that the Church (the JW Church that is) constitutes part of the mediator.

"Then we might with propriety say that the mediator of the new covenant is Christ Jesus. He is the one who provides the ransom price and no one else shares in the ransom price. The purchasing value is all in the merit of Christ Jesus. This same one, then, is the mediator; but since the church is made a part with Christ Jesus as members of his body, the church thereby becomes a part of the mediator, but has no part, of course, in purchasing the world."

I wonder if WT will bring this teaching back - it would suit their means.

Today, Did Anyone Attend...

just out of curiosity, if you are in the united states, did any one of you attend a 4th of july parade today, where you live?

i attended the huntington beach fourth of july parade.

i've been attending that parade since about 1993. it's always fun to photograph the different celebrities who are in the parade.

It shouldn't be a problem celebrating the 4th of July in USA, since the WT allows Chileans to celebrate their independence day "Fiestas Patrias" by raising the national flag of Chile at their Kingdom Halls.

i used to post on this site a few years back but after moving on personally and being shunned by my only remaining family member for the last 4-5 years i the j.w's became just background noise to me.

yet yesterday something happened that brought back to me the degree of control this cult has over it's members.

a new wall mart recently opened in my little mountain town here in northern georgia, u.s. as i headed across the parking lot on my way into the store the heat was intense, wit a humidity factor of around 90%.

if any one has been taking note of my posts, it could be said that i often mention conversations i have had with dubbies.

in some ways not been dfed has allowed me to gain some real in sight into how they think and their justification for things.

the following is a conversation i just had with an ultra super dub relative, and to be honest i don't know weather i should be laughing or crying over it.. relative: the rc this year is going to be held in the assembly hall.
