New video telling the R&F to be generous
by Splash inbro sanderson has a 7 minute video up on their streaming website called "be willing to open your hand".. in it he tells us not to be "tight fisted" or "stingy" and later "regardless of how much we have or how little we have, we'll find something within our power to be able to do".
we have the responsibility to imitate jehovah's generosity.. there's a bit about giving to one another when we see the need, which is nice, then he drops in how 20 years ago the canada branch committee asked the bethel family for donations to the disaster relief fund, and promptly raised over $10,000.
i think that's pretty good going for those under a vow of poverty.. "the generous person will prosper" he says, then illustrates this using a made up story.

Br. Lett's Slight of Hand
by Hold Me-Thrill Me innice try brother lett.
you moved the cups around the table and thought we would not see the slight of hand you were handing us.
you begged for money but you have failed to show yourself capable of handling the monies already provided .

I've just watched Lett's body language at the 27:30 minute mark of his donation plea.
When talking about selling just one significant property in NYC he says
"In actuality, the sale of property in NYC is basically only financing the construction of world headquarters in Warwick"As he knowingly speaks this obvious deception, he cannot stop himself from exaggeratedly shaking his head from side to side as if to say "LIES, LIES, LIES".
Body language is bitch.

Suffering: the result of Adamic sin?
by confused ini am currently having a study with a pioneer couple to try to reactivate me and get me back into the congregation.
they have asked me to really think about the provision of the ransom sacrifice.
in doing so i have gone back to basics and have already hit a few questions i am thinking of raising.

When A&E sinned, what did God do to their bodies so that they would no longer live forever.
What did God change in their DNA to make them susceptible to illness and death? It seems to me that if God had not interfered with them, the act of eating the fruit was not in itself the cause of their subsequent demise, rather God must have changed them as a punishment.
And I like your point about Satan. Even if his spiritual body cannot suffer illness, why does he have to eventually be destroyed.
If Gods law dictates that sin = death, why has he not yet died? -

In depth research reveals....
by Deltawave insomething i have noticed over the years is how much harder it is to research the history of the watchtower society from its own literature.
people have thrown away old publications in place of the watchtower library.
i beleive soon the watchtower library disk will be discontinued in place of the online library.

There are online resources with all the old literature scans on them.
The Society will change their history a different way, however.
Instead of just refreshing existing publications, they will discontinue the old ones and bring out new ones.
This makes it even harder to find rewritten history.Once the WT Library is discontinued most JW's will use the online version as you say.
Then the online versions can be updated, replaced or even the availability removed by increasing the furthest year available from, say 2000 to 2010.They have lots of options.

She's right, she will be labelled an apostate.
All through her JW life she has suffered abuse, and they will continue it even now.
I'm so impressed with her, she's a survivor.

The camera angle means we rarely see any of his bling, and just to be certain, the cameraman zooms in a little bit more at the 2:00 mark.
Think I'll call Bethel and tell them I'm facing a temporary financial difficulty.
I know their answer would be to trust in Jehovah, stay warm and well fed. Then they'd phone my elders to form an investigation.

Just checked JW Lib on both android and iPad and I don't see those releases on there.
There's a whiteboard animation dealing with convention reminders which was played in all the halls recently, but nothing much else that I can see.

An experience at Bethel
by joe134cd ini was just thinking of something i observed on a visit to bethel some years back, that at the time struck me as odd, but now that i look back on it, it might be revealing about their financial situation.
please feel free to agree/disagree with me and also bear in mind this is some years back so my memory may be sketchey.
i remember walking into the front entrance of the bethel to do a tour.

SoCal101 "Here at Bethel we use nothing but the best for our brothers and sisters! As a matter of fact, our premium soap has loofa fibers already infused into the soap!"
It's not the loofa fibres that turn my stomach, it's the 'other' fibres.
Imagine being blonde but finding a dark hair in your soap.Gross
