.....states that there is 95% certainty climate change is man made.
people are still saying we don't need to do anything about it.. if you were told there is a 95% risk of you dying if you don't change your diet, wouldn't you change your diet?.

i thought i would share some of my observations on counting field service time, reports, etc.
and how those reports are viewed, to those that are still so fixated on numbers.. i served as secretary on the service committee for many years, and have seen it all!.
i was really disheartened when wt changed the requirement for aux pioneering to allow for 30 hrs, instead of the 50 it has been for so long.
Hey Tech.., Your points 1 & 2 above are spot on. I missed more than 3 reports in a six month period - I'd been out just lax in getting the paperwork in. The elders came to see me just before the six months were up.
One week before the CO visit.
To tell me they were going to recommend my deletion as a MS.
...did I not mention that I was an MS at the time...
They let an MS missed more than 50% of his reports in a 6 month period and didn't say a word. They only came round to tick the box bfore the CO came.
Idiots
awful car crash tv.
teenagers on vacation getting drunk having sex etc.
parents secretly watch.
They probably caught some stick. I know a couple (elder and wife) from a West Wales congregation that were on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. They did not make it past the quick fire round but caught ALOT of stick from the congregation. Mostly jelly bags busy bodies who were gutted they'd not had the balls to do it earlier.

some interesting quotes.... while it is wise not to believe everything we read in the news, it does not follow that there is nothing we can trust.
the key may be to have a healthy skepticism, while keeping an open mind.tone: when the tone of a news item is angry, spiteful, or highly critical, it suggests that an attack is under way and not a reasoned argument.sources: is there evidence of thorough research?
Have to say that if the magazine mentioned Murdoch, Fox, The Sun, The Daily Mail, The Express etc. then I would be inclinded to agree ;-)

Not in the UK ATM but pretty sure it's a repeat an episode from about a year ago.
The even better one were the ex pioneer and MS couple getting married on Dont' Tell The Bride.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01n4dlp
i was informed that due to oct 5th wt biz meet all meetings for that week are cancelled,.
i asked if the mid week meeting was also and was told yes, because of the assembly.. it seems there's an overload of theocratic alternative banqueting feasts available so.
that the regular menu at the kh is not necessary for that week.
Not the case in the UK
looking for that quote from the wt that says something like:.
.
it does matter which religion we belong to because we are responsible in part for that religions decisions..
I've never thought about it before but the g96 quote suggests that EVERYONE who supports part of Babylon the Great is toast at the big A. Given the WTS' doublespeak on billions being killed this is an interesting point.
told my husband to put a muzzle on my mouth over the blood dogma.
we all were driving around in field service when the topic of "which fragments would you take if you were in a car accident or cut yourself badly".
said his choice is a personal one, another sister with chronic health problems said she had no problem with the governing body's new light on taking various fragments.
This is my favourite blood question to drop into conversations. To do it to the CO is ace.
http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/religious-boy-fights-court-for-right-to-die-20130917-2tx5u.html.
this is tragic.
the boy is 17, and earlier this year the courts ruled that he was to be forced a transfusion.
I did it. I did refuse a transfusion when I was badly injured at 16. It was before I was baptised but my automatic, conditioned response convinced me that I must love the truth. So I got dunked.
The whole blood issue is probably the first thing that got me on the road to where I am now.
It's ironic to think that the thing that triggered my baptism was also the thing that triggered my awakening to TTATT.
why the blood ban?.
today i added a new article to my blog addressing watchtowers motivation to construct its infamous blood doctrine.
there are reports published that the reason was something other than religious conviction.
The 62 Day's Text quote from WT 9/15 62 is very interesting. It clearly shows that the original intent of the anti blood stance was one of complete abstainance. Misguided as it may be it is at least an honest and straight forward approach to a principled stand. The current situation is a complete mess of watered down mush that should be constrained to the bowels of history ASAP before any more innocents die.
