What would be the standing of a born-in who were always there (field work and all) but never baptized?

this may be an elementary question but i was never a jw.. i wonder if such a person can actually exist.. i assume a born-in knows basically all about jehovah's-witnesses by the time he is, say, 16. if he were to postpone baptism, this person would not be in the same situation as a worldly who doesn't know an iota of anything, but would not be a brother, either.

what would be his real standing?.

Thanks Silence. I'm sorry for your loss too. My two blood related brothers got married and I was invited to the weddings and wasn't allowed to go to one of their receptions. Then my step sister was married and I wasn't invited at all. I could almost understand if I was really an immoral person or someone who caused a lot of disruption but as a mild mannered, kind person it basically just makes you angry and hurt.

At my younger brothers wedding my mom, step dad and I went together and we were only allowed at the wedding and then for a personal photo shoot while everyone else waited really far away from us. My mom had been disfellowshipped over twenty years ago and she never went back so she's still bad of course. But anyway, the elder who married my brother and his wife was her father. I don't really know him but you could tell that he's a very strict person. After we took the pictures I saw him standing far away but I made a split decision to go and introduce myself. As I cut across the grass to where he was I could see him tense up, lol, my mom followed right behind me too! He shook our hands and then nearly ran away as quick as he could, he was so rude, but I did like seeing him squirm a bit. If they want to make you feel like the lowest being on the planet then I say stick it in their faces rather than give them the satisfaction of being morally superior.

i went to the last day of the dc here in west palm beach, just to make my mother company.

wow, what a difference can a year outside the lie can do to perception.

it was the same crap as you'd expect but there is a plot twist: the speaker was so into the talk he was actually starting to shout and wound up mentioning that they now know how many angels will be needed to destroy everyone at armaggeddon.

How just plaind stupid of them. If you take their logic an apply it to "today's" number of people on the planet is one thing but since we have no idea of when their Armageddon is coming then we have no idea of how many people will be on the planet when that time comes. Just silly drivel! lol

The more numbers they throw out there the more obvious their false teachings become.

This is exactly where I fit in when I was a witness. The older you get, the more people seem to think you might be bad association even if you are doing anything wrong. You also aren't allowed to be in your own family members weddings.

I just don't want them to get hurt. If anyone incites the Russian government to some type of action they may feel motivated to harm witnesses. Then it could escalate to much, much more. Don't forget about what happened with the concentration camps. Russia is moving steadily towards an Authoritarian Government and we need to tread lightly no matter how we feel about the teachings of witnesses.

so here's the latest in my pathetic saga.

i've tried to fly under the radar for the past year, but it isn't working so well.

i've learned not to engage my wife in debates but rather to ask questions.

It sounds like a good way to begin. I'm sorry thought that you're going through this. As for your kids, definitely make sure they have other friends. This will be one of the most important things that you can do. (BTW, I also listened to Kingdom Melodies when I was a kid. Mostly because those were the only records I had and I wanted to use my new record player but I did like them) Are your kids interested in sports or playing an instrument? If they are I'd suggest they try out for something, anything! Or get involved with community theatre, etc. That way they are having positive influences in their social lives. Just a suggestion.

With all the studying and prep work you've done I think you'll have success in irritating the heck out of the elders, just no matter what try to handle it with love and try not to attack them too much. Lay out the facts but keep emotions in check if possible. Otherwise you'll spook them!

I hope it all goes smoothly and that your wife and kids do decide to leave the org.

I've found comfort in the belief that we are all one. One with everything in the universe. Our lives here in the physical are an illusion created by Life (God) to learn more about Life (God). If you consider that every single being on the planet whether it's a human, animal, tree we all see life from a different point of view. Even if we were all in the same room witnessing the same event, we will see it and understand it from our view point. It may trigger a memory in me and make you have a completely different experience. When I think of the scripture that says "you are my witnesses" this is what I think of. So in the end we are individual aspects of God. Since everything is energy, and energy never ceases to exist, then we must all be energetically one.

This is something that always bothered me when I was a witness. I remember hearing after Hurricane Katrina that winesses in the area had set up a place to give water to people. But of course there were Watchtowers and Awakes on hand as well.

Have you ever heard a talk on child molestation following a judicial reproof?

when someone is reprimanded by a judicial commitee there is usually a talk given to the congregation about issues that leads to serious sins.

sometimes that talk takes you by surprise because the reproof was private and no announcement was made to the congregation.

other times you figure out why an individual was the object of a judicial commitee...i heard talks on the usage of drugs, cigarettes, pornography, bad forms of intertainment, fornication, adultery, fraud, gambling, disapproved medical treatments...but never on child abusers and mostly how to protect your children against this terrible crime.. do you think the reason there is never mention of child abuse is that if many knew there is a child molester in their midst they would pressure the elders to go to the autorities?

Why do people pretend good things about Jesus ?

ive had a few discussions both here and in real life and often find people excuse the ot with all its vile, violence and only concentrate on jesus because he was good.

i try and assk them to show me an example and they of course they quickly tell us about the miracles, and thats fine.

however when you ask them about slavery, violence, women and so on they make excuses.

One of my problems with it (aside from having so many other prophets that had the exact same story or very close to the same story as Jesus did many years before his time) was that he never wrote anything down himself or even dictated to a scribe. Why would he not have done this? If you are "The" Son then you would know that it would be best to put your own words down rather than others writing things many years later. I always thought that was weird and totally overlooked.
