  I didn't get the job.

  i'm trying not to feel down.

  i didn't even get called for an interview.

  a friend called and told me there was a new girl working at the job i applied for.. tried not to get my hopes up too high, but i do feel a bit down.

  Thanks for the encouragement.

  Gopher: Our home based business used to be our sale/service business with a store front location for 10 years. In January of this year we moved out of the storefront, lost our business phone# and moved everything home. Hubby was able to close in our patio and move everything there. He does mostly service calls now for schools and businesses, schools are broke right now, so it is mostly businesses. I've been handing out business cards with our new address and phone number, and sending out post cards too. And some of our clients have searched until they found us. So we just keep hanging in there. It would be great if the economy improved to the point where we could rely on just our business to support us.

  Katie: I know what you mean, when I put down information and dates, I know some of the people I'm dealing with were in diapers or weren't even born yet. It just seems like yesterday to me.

  Blondie: Thanks for the encouragement. A year of looking for a job, that takes determination. Everyday in the news there is always some company closing, or laying off, which means there are move people showing up for the few jobs offered. Hopefully things will change soon.

  I'm trying not to feel down. I didn't even get called for an interview. A friend called and told me there was a new girl working at the job I applied for.

  Tried not to get my hopes up too high, but I do feel a bit down. Lately the kids have started most sentences with "if you get that job", so there's been a lot of planning if I had gotten it.

  Trying to be positive. We are doing better at our business here at home. We haven't had to use credit cards to pay for utilities or other needed things since we brought our business home.

  I read the classified and there just isn't a lot of jobs available right now. Will see what next week brings.

  I'm stressed

  hello people who read this post by me..... sometimes i don't know why i start my own threads...not any body really responds to me.i thought i had friends here,that i could whine and be a big sookie to and that would be ok.sorrie if i offend anyone here who does care.. well,some of you may know i have a disabled child with autism.i am at my end of my rope with him.i love my son a great deal but sadly to say.i may be placing him in a home.for he can get the help he needs.i know there isnot much help for austic people and i know i basically get no help for matthew.

  (petty i am still thankful for what you tried to do for me,you mean a great deal to me) i have asked for help,over and over.i asked for teaching for myself,for i could help my son.it will not be givin to me.

  i get some goverenment help for my son,whcich is 300 a month for care ,trasportation.it doesnt help at all.people want 10 an hour or more to take my son out,and i have to pay for places to bring him....gezzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  I'm so sorry to hear what your are going through. I have a mentally retarded brother, and may parents encountered some of the problems you are facing from the gov.(very little help if you are the parents, but more help if someone else cares for him)

  He was in various places and was very unhappy. He kept saying he just wanted to go home. Finally one of the social workers suggested that my parents become a part of their system and my brother could live with them and they would get the help too. So that what they did, they became licensed care providers and took care of their son. Of course there was visits by a several people, making sure they were running things by the book. My Dad got so he enjoyed talking to the different ones. They did take a few others in from time to time temporairily too.

  I don't know if this will help you but you might look into it. Hope things get better for you.

  What does your menu look like?

  what do you eat most often every day?.

  breakfast: 2 toasts whole wheat, with butter and strawberry jam and a big glass of orange juice.. .

  dinner: i love beef, as in hamburgers, chicken, roast beef, whatever is meat.

  Breakfasts: oatmeal, pancakes& sausages, eggs&toast, bagels, cold cereal(these are choices, I don't make all of these on the same day

  Lunches: Ham & Cheese Sandwiches, BLT, grilled cheese sandwiches, PB&J Sandwiches, Tomato Soup, Chicken noodle soup or Ramen.

  Dinners: We started to grill ourside, hamburgers, steaks, chicken with baked potatoes, cole slaw or tossed salad, and a veggie. On cold days, spagetti and meatballs, with cheese sticks, roast beef and mashed potatoes, fish sticks and fries.

  Desserts: Apple, Blueberry, Blackberry or Pumpking Pie. Sometimes chocolate cake. Ice Cream

  Snacks: oranges, apples, bananas, vanilla wafers, cheese curls, potato chips.

  I don't eat all this stuff, I have a large family that includes 2 teenage boys and have many things available for them.

  Supporting the troops

  i wanted to share how our little town is supporting the troops.

  a list of of soldiers that were not receiving mail was obtained and our elementary students are writing to them.. we have several young men and women serving from our town and 'freedom boxes" were place at several stores as well as the public library.

  there is a list of affordable things that can be purchased to be shipped to soldiers.

Things like personal items: baby wipes, shampoo, socks, foot powder, gel insoles, toothepaste, sun block, razors,writing paper, ink pens, etc. Also small snack items like pringles, cracker packs, energy bars. You can purchase any of the items and place them in the box. Cash donations are accepted to help cover shipping costs too. Soldier's mother or other family member will then receive a box and the funds to ship it off to their loved one. It will come from their home town.

  The American Legion is presenting "Blue Star" banners to families that have ones in the military.

  We usually fly our flags along main street on every patriotic holiday. They have been up since the war started and will continue until it is done.

  Just a small view of life in a small town in America.

  it was the most that ever showed up for a city job.. 3 of 4 city counsel members said they would recommend that i be hired(i don't know the 4th) and the mayer said he would endorce me too.they don't do the hiring, but can let their thoughts be known.

I take some comfort in knowing there are people that like me and think I am a nice and dependable person. That's a long way from the way JWs treat me.

  1. How long were you a Jehovah's Witness?

  First contacted when I was 19, baptized at 25 in 1981. 2. Were you raised in it or become a JW later on in life?

  Later

  3. Were you contacted via the door-to-door ministry?

  Yes, also worked with several JWs 4. Initially, what intrigued or drew you to the Jehovah's Witnesses then?

  their friendlines, "knowledge of the Bible".

  5. When were you baptized? Or if you weren't, mention that if you wish.

  1981 at 25yo.

  6. When did you start having doubts?

  1995, generation of 1914 changed, local congregation's actions.

  7. What else perhaps contributed to your leaving?

  there are certain ones that will speak to me if they are out alone, in a group all will shun me. 11. Have you ever protested/picketted a JW assembly/convention?

  For some it takes years to get over it.
