my mother is still a member of the org, and as i see it, fully intends on remaining a member.
she does not agree with everything the wts says, (the elders don't know that) and she has told me that she would never disown me for them, nor have they asked her to.

Just wanted to second what the others have said, this is a wonderful letter. The love and compassion that you feel for your mother comes through loud and clear. I hope for your mother's sake that the elders respond lovingly to your letter and that she receives the love and kindness that the JWs claim to have. Please let us know the outcome.

Sorry Prisca, that kind of reasoning is so bORG(everything is always Satan's fault or the demon's fault or Tina's fault)...YOU are responsible for what YOU do...Tina's blocking of the email in no way FORCED you to come in here and make veiled attacks against her. That was your choice, and your choice only. If you have a problem with Tina, which you obviously do, you could have taken a direct approach as Rcat mentioned...just a thought.

I haven't read this entire thread and I'm not going to. When you originally posted the story, I read it and appreciated what you were sharing with us. I am a bit turned off by what I percieve as attacks on you for posting it...let me assure you that I didn't get the impression that you were trying to 'justify' anything. And I see absolutely no need to try to pick apart actions that occurred years ago when you were a "loyal company man"...of course you were!! But now you tirelessly point out the errors, the corruption, the absolutely shitty WTS thinking...and you are more courageous than most in honestly and openly talking about the things that you were involved in while an elder. I echo Tina and Rcat...please continue the Justice series, I too appreciate them.

Hey ((((Tina))), good topic
I too feel the relief from not having to prepare for the meetings, get dressed and drag two less than willing children along...
In fact, my kids and I try to go out to breakfast on Sunday mornings...we'd like to start a new family tradition with this but unfortunately, we're all too lazy to get moving on Sunday morns!!
As for vacation plans, don't have a WHOLE lot planned....but the kids and I are going to Crystal River next week with Doug and Tracy and the boys for a few days of snorkeling, diving, and swimming with the manatees. Ahhhhhhh, can't wait!

You ROCK woman!!! I'm so glad that you did what you needed to do in talking with the elders. I agree with what everyone else has said, that there may still be rough times ahead, but what is really important is that you were true to yourself! And that you are out of that dysfunctional organization. AND that you possibly were able to reach that other elder....there's something about him that spoke to me, right from the first mention of his name...can't quite put my finger on it.....
