Families can be a real bitch sometimes, but what are you gonna do?? Sorry that your SIL was such a shit; I would guess that she must be a pretty miserable person. Try not to let her infect you too k?

  As for being strong, Harm you are one tough lady! And you know, the occasional purging of strong emotion is NOT weakness. In fact, being able to admit it to ourselves and then express it honestly is strength; holding it in and constantly denying it is weak. And hey, Harmony gal, you're my cyber sis. If that ugly ol' troll-witch of an SIL can't appreciate you, who cares?? Coz you've got all kinds of people here who love you and appreciate your many great qualities!

  Prisca, with all due respect, this may very well be the time to gracefully bow out of the thread. Not that I or anyone else has the right to tell you what to do, but reading thru it this morning, I can tell you that it doesn't look good. There's no loss of dignity you know in quietly withdrawing, especially in the face of another's pain.

  i've been a bit short with people today in the forums, and i shouldn't have been quite so abrupt.

  i get frustrated when i see exjws make the same mistake and join up with political groupthink just as they used to join with governing body groupthink.

  it's all propaganda, as i keep trying to point out, but the fact is that you can believe whatever you want without my input.. i realize i keep harping on conservative hypocrisy lately, but that's because they are in power right now.

  You know you're one of my favorite people here on the board. I didn't see the comments, either, that you are referring to but everyone is entitled to a bad day now and again. Put the stick away, my friend!

  As for politics, I agree with you. Each issue needs to be decided on its own merits, not according to which 'side' a person may belong to. I am only recently getting my political feet wet and trying to figure all of this stuff out. As bad as our political system sucks, tho, what's the alternative? I jes' don' know.

  ever since i've come to this board, you take every opportunity possible to imform everyone else how sad you are, do you ever give encouragement back to others, or have you always been like this, doing your best to stay as miserable as can be?.

  you know theres lots of people here who would like to help you, given the chance, in fact i can't even be bothered to give you any encouragement this time, cos all you do every time you see someone in chat is tell them how lonely and sad you are.

  Have a little compassion will you? Flower, I appreciate what you have to say and you're right, Logical is really the only person who can help Logical, to a large degree. Staying on the pity-pot is certainly not helping matters. However, I've been there, as I would imagine many of us have.

  Problem is, some people have never been taught the necessary skills to deal with life and its problems. Logi is young and in a pretty bad situation. Also, some of the people taking shots at Logical haven't been here very long and haven't seen the progress she's made. Lisa raised a valid point: perhaps it's slower than some of you would like but it is progress nonetheless.

  Solution: if Logi's posts and comments bother you, don't read them.

  Hey Path,

  How are ya? I agree with your post. One thing that struck me was how they're still telling people to give up businesses and other financial opportunities for the 'sake of the good news'. But do they offer to support these same folks when they're past working age and have absolutely NO MONEY???? Nope. Geez, it makes me ill. If you're successful in business, you must be materialistic. When you're old and poor, you obviously are a poor planner. Give me a break!

  My story is to long to tell......

  i am new to this forum but i have for the past several days been reading posts from people that for the first time in 26 years have pasts, memories and feelings like my self.

  suffice to say that i too was born and raised in "the truth".

  i have at one time or another been, a ms, a vacation pioneer, a regular pioneer, a disfellowship individual, a re-instated individual, publicly reproved, privately reproved and finally for the past 7 years a man who they don't even come on my property cause he's a nut who might shoot you and will at the very least call the police and have you arrested for trespassing individual.. unlike so many others though i find no personal desire to rant or rage against the machine.

  today, a coworker finished reading my d.a.

  letter i have prepared, but not sent yet.. part of my recovery from the damaged caused from membership in the cult has been to be open and honest as to who i am, was and what i was involved in.. so i gave him the letter to read, and he gave it back today, two weeks later, and said:.

  "i told my wife, if they ever come knocking at our door, tell them to leave, and if they won't, call the police".
