who said anything about belief in the supernatural? I said belief in God. - jgnat
That is interesting jgnat. I'm not sure what you mean though and I don't think I could get away with saying that on this forum.
are their any former atheist/agnostic on here who reverted to christianity or a belief in god.
i became an atheist back in july and it was the most unfulfilling depressive period of my life.
i'm now starting to rebuild my relationship with god and i'm already starting to feel a lot better.

so proclaimed the brother that read the wt letter tonight that explained the new kingdom hall funding arrangement.. everyone in the hall claps .... well, like it was the last talk on the district convention.. he says 'what bank would wipe out a debt of $200,000 ???
only jehovah's organization!
isn't this wonderful !!!".
I would suggest that they have become "thinking free." - Oubliette
The human brain can think with lightning speed.
Sadly every new atrocity from the GB sets off a pattern of thought that goes something like this: -
This new arrangement, interpretation of prophecy, new light, means .....
That sounds a bit odd....but....
It's from God's organization and if that's wrong then that would mean this isn't the true religion...
I will have to apologize to my family who told me it's not the Truth and then I shunned them...
That big house on the hill will never be mine after Armageddon...
I am going to get old and die...
What a wonderful new teaching from our loving organization! We are truly blessed!
did you get baptized without being dedicated?.
why did you allow men to come between you and jehovah?.
why were you serving jehovah at all?
cBg, you are expecting Jehovah's imperfect earthly organization to be perfect?
You are being unreasonable. a watcher
This argument is getting so old. This imperfect organization demands perfect obedience and perfect loyalty. For the prophecies that are never fulfilled and the teachings they get wrong and change it offers this limp excuse every time, we are not perfect men, we make mistakes. What if a brother or sister does not understand a teaching and cannot believe it? Are they being imperfect humans? No, they are thrown out before you can blink! A watcher wake up!
this week's reading included exodus 25:2 where moses was to collect contibutions from those whose heart incites him to.
i commented on this verse and quoted from the watchtower 1879 where it says, "we will not beg or solicite funds...when jehovah fails to provide the necessary funds it will be time to suspend publication.
" mind you, this was the same meeting where the letter was read about the new donation "arrangement" was read.. comments anyone?.
"we will not beg or solicite funds...when Jehovah fails to provide the necessary funds it will be time to suspend publication."
It's way past time to suspend publication then surely? They have been begging for money for years. I heard this quotation for thirty years and still they asked for money.
the finish minister of justice has publicly attacked the practice of judicial committees in her country which are in violation with the basic rights and freedoms enjoyed from citizens in her country .read the full article here :.

Don't mean to be pedantic but people and things from Finland are Finnish not Finish. It just gives a bad impression.

As far as I can see they already have ditched it with the overlapping generations teaching. If they can get people to swallow that, and they have, then they can just keep it rolling on and on. The 1914 ditching has already begun.
Now that they've made the GB the faithful and discreet slave to take any importance away from the remnant who partake every year they could turn the increase in partakers into new light rather than a problem. To replace anointed who became unfaithful in the past or something. That way as long as there are partakers the overlapping generation keeps rolling on and on and who needs to even remember 1914?
your comments will be appreciated..

In 1988 the UN kept going on about peace and security, it was all over the newspapers. None of the JWs we mentioned it to were even remotely interested. Which we thought was odd We left the following year.
friend on fb shared this with me and after watching it, i thought i'd relay it here for any that wished to view it.. .

StoneWall I like it, good one. We really need to get out there and look people in the eye and talk to flesh and blood humans. This is fun too, talking to you, whoever you are. Variety, it's the spice of life.
