There was a group of them in the congregation I was in during the late 1970s. Furthermore, they were quite blatant about it, too. One was a “pioneer” sister who let everybody know that she had received a vision from Jehovah, in which she was notified that “the preaching work was finished.” This group branded themselves as the “New Remnant”, and arrived at the next Memorial suitably attired in white robes. Needless to say, they made quite a sensation - so much so that JWs on the opposite side of the continent heard about it. (This occurred in what was Newmarket congregation, in the Australian state of Queensland).

Looking Back Were There Any “Apostates” In Your Congregation?
by minimus ini remember knowing some jws that expressed their own personal viewpoints regarding what a scripture meant that was at odds with society teachings.
in the 60 and 70’s, that was pretty much tolerated until the great purge in 1979 and 1980. as a matter of fact, it wasn’t unusual for witnesses to get together and discuss personal questions and viewpoints they might have.
it wasn’t unusual to send letters to the society asking what was considered the right or wrong view.

Do old time present day active JW`s genuinely believe in overlapping generations ?
by smiddy3 infor the life of me i can not come to terms with old timers in the "truth" who could swallow this interpretation of scripture about an overlapping generation .. when jesus spoke about "this generation" .
are their any real bible students among younger ones any more ?.
here are 3 bible scriptures that confirm a generation is approximately 40- 50 years long give or take a few years .. 1. matt:1 :17 abraham born 2016-18 bc jesus born 2 bc approx.

Pioneers, Elder's Wives most self righteous. Etc.
by Overrated inas a jw did you have a pioneer sister/elder's wife who was the biggest busybody, self righteous, arrogant pus in the circuit?
who would look down on others and treat people like crap.. without giving to much away, i experienced one that knew everyone in circuit.
and if she or her husband saw or heard something they didn't like it was " you know what the bible says" regardless if it was in there or not.

The bible writers where on some sort of stuff when they wrote the bible, don't you think?
Bloody good stuff, too, I reckon it was!

Sound Familiar?
by peacefulpete ina republican congressman voted his conscience to impeach trump.
the results might surprise some of us.. "my dad's cousins sent me a petition - a certified letter - saying they disowned me because i'm in 'the devil's army' now," kinzinger said in a phone conversation on thursday.
"it's been crazy, when you have friends - that you thought were good friends that would love you no matter what - that don't.".

MMM,
Fair comment.
Although not resident in the USA, I ,too, am most interested in matters like the question raised by the OP. While I am unlikely to comment any further, I will be following this discussion with keen attention.

I regret to have to say the I have been through a divorce.
No single event caused that, just several decades worth of resentment which accumulated finally to explosion point.
(Back then, I had never even heard of “conflict management”)

Human relationships are subtle, and small things do count. A marriage failure could well have its origins in a crisis brought about from something as (seemingly) inconsequential as the matter of meals.
As in many things, timing is all important in conflict management. If allowed to fester for too long without being effectively managed, then the consequences are likely to be drastic (eg. War)
Then again there are those around who thrive on conflict, and have no desire to see it peacefully resolved.

The religion of the JWs certainly could be life threatening, particularly if illness or injury left you in need of a blood transfusion.
Not sure, though, if the religion of the JWs is the same thing as Communism?
(Unless you are here using the term “Communism” as something of a political sweat-word, rather than an accurate description of ones politics!)

Conflict is inevitable.
It is how it is handled that determines the outcome.

“Divides” of some sort or other are almost inevitable, as nobody is likely to agree about every single thing. Then add to that those who feel obligated to say “black” just because they heard another person say “white”, and the rest is not hard to imagine. I believe it is called “human nature”.
“Popular Sovereignty” might be a laudable ideal, but almost impossible to ever achieve.
