  Covid19 "Suggestions" (aka rules)

  so a co just said in his talk yesterday that anyone that doesn't follow the branch's covid19 "suggestions" is disobedient and the type of person that won't survive armageddon.

  didn't the letter say that each head of household would choose for himself how to apply the "suggestions"?.

  the funny thing is there are other countries where none of these "suggestions" have been given..

  So a CO just said in his talk yesterday that anyone that doesn't follow the Branch's Covid19 "suggestions" is disobedient and the type of person that won't survive Armageddon.

  I just got this email this morning. Funny how all of a sudden the screws are being tightened to continue the isolation. And that The Branch (said with lot's of reverb) is now being equated with God himself.

  NOAH - Genesis 8, a break down. 7 months in the ark and it rested on the mountains of Ararat. About 2 months later he saw land. 40 days later he sent out a raven. 7 days later he sent out a dove and when it returned with the olive leaf he knew the waters had receded Gen 8:11 Noah could see land and from his vantage point… was it safe to leave the ark? No, he remained. Vs 12 he remained another 7 days. Did he leave then? No, he remained. Vs 13 11 months and he took the cover off. Did he say its time to go? Answer vs 14,15 he waited on word from Jehovah. He did not take it upon himself to decide when it was safe. He was there for a year and a week.
  Point: We and the friends may be anxious to return to what we have been doing in the past. Attending meetings at the KH and resuming public ministry. We should focus on the positive that has come from this. More meeting attenders, inactive return, experiences from telephone witnessing and letter writing. Waiting on the word of Jehovah from the branch, and focusing on the positive can help us stay safe.
  When leaving the ark what did Noah do first? Gen 8:20 he built an alter and offered burnt offering to Jehovah expressing his thankfulness. He recognized the ark as a means of salvation not an irritant.
  We too should appreciate our protected environment.

  Another full of himself, little dictator, pompous-ass C.O. I sent a reply email asking why if The Branch is for JW's safety with their orders have some come down with the COVID-19 and died? What did those people do wrong?

  I guess the JW's will be sitting in their basements or attics staring at their navels and sliding even further into the abyss of insanity for the foreseeable future.

  Would Watchtower Ever Risk Setting Another Date

  there was a 50 year gap between the failed dates of 1925 and 1975.. memories fade, people die, and who cares what was said 50 years ago.. most jw's now in the religion werent there when 1975 was a thing.

  even my mother who was baptized in 1974 who i do remember speaking about it back in the day, can barely remember what the fuss was about.

  for active jw's who are doing all there studying online now, its practically impossible to find any wt contemporary reference to 1975.. i read recently (sorry i cant source it right now) that at the time, even watchtower may have taken the view that even if they knew 1975 was wrong, the short term gains would far outstrip those who left leading to an overall net gain so it was a risk worth taking.

  Removing Historic Monuments and Statues - Does the Term "Historical" Make it Right or Wrong?

  after further review and thought, i really don't see how removing a monument or statue that may be truly offensive to a large group of people is in some way rewriting history.. i think of germany or other parts of europe.

  you don't see swastikas on buildings or statues of hitler or mussolini or other upper level generals in public.

  would it be good for a person (think jewish) to drive around a city and see hitler in a public park, even though it is "historical?

  I think ALL statues should be torn down, blown up or whatever.

  If we get rid of ALL statues then no one can be "triggered", and birds will quit crapping in public places.

  This virus is here to stay and will never be gone.

  As a patriotic American citizen who practices concealed carry, I would like to see the results of defunded police. If the police either cannot or will not enforce the law of the land it falls upon the shoulders of true patriots to do so, up to and including using lethal force.

  my 87 year old dad called me for the first time in 16 years the other day .... just to chat.

  i was floored to say the least since he didn't even bother to call me when my mom died several years ago.

  he called again today to inquire how i felt about jehovah's witnesses.

  Absolutely not. If anything the WT will become even MORE stubborn in their lack of natural affection. Some crap about, "Dear Brothers and Sisters, We know that it is diffiCULT to stay faithful to the governing body when they instruct you to shun your relatives and friends, and for not obeying every utterance from the mouths of the governing body. But please be assured that we know what we are doing much better than any living human in history. So shun. . .Shun. . .SHUN as if your lives depended on it, because we say they do!   if white people pushed an agenda saying white lives matter, some people would have a conniption..

  "black lives matter". . . was a slogan to bring attention to an issue that has disproportionately affected "african american" people. . .

  If blacks were not disproportionately represented in the crime statistics, the one parent families, etc. perhaps they would not be disproportionately represented in the results of criminal behavior?

  i'm reading babylon the great has fallen, god's kingdom rules, published 1963. this was studied years ago when i was about 10-12 years old.

  i wanted to just read some of the beliefs from decades ago.

  my wife wants to know why i'm reading this book.

  I had the odd acquaintance (they never became actual friends) who'd say to me "you think too much".

  You must know some of the same people I do. My standard reply, accompanied by a look like I wanted to hit them over the head with a baseball bat, was, "Nooo. . .YOU don't think ENOUGH!"
