What should i do?
RUN!!! Run fast, run far, do not look back. Oh, and did I say RUN?
i'm 43 and a divorced mother of 2. in january 2019 i met the man i thought i could spend the rest of my life with.
we were happy and even though our relationship wasn't perfect (like all relationships) i thought we had a chance and were building a life together with our young kids.
background on me - i've been divorced since 2012 after 12 years of marriage.
What should i do?
RUN!!! Run fast, run far, do not look back. Oh, and did I say RUN?
good move or bad?
?.
Trump has certainly not been as strike-happy as Obama was.
obama made the comment that he was getting pretty good at killing people. I guess he was right. Obama ordered 542 drone strikes while president, resulting in the deaths of 3,797 people, including 542 civilians.
But don't let the facts confuse you. We all "KNOW" that President Trump is the only bad guy here, right?
i don't know if this topic has been covered before - it might 've been.. i also recommend flipper's excellent music thread ('what songs have you been listening to?
', or similar).. but, i'd just like to start a thread about certain songs giving me goosebumps.
y'know, when you hear a song that profoundly effects you in some difficult-to-describe way and the hairs on your arm stand on end even though the room temperature's comfortably warm.. so, which songs give you goosebumps?.
For me, the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards playing Amazing Grace.

Only in Dubland can it be "thrilling" to see that in 2019 it took 8,471,008 JW's 2,088,560,437 hours to get 303,866 persons baptized compared to the twenty years ago totals of 5,544,059 JW's 1,186,666,708 hours to get 316,092
persons baptized.
Nearly 3 million more JW's spending nearly double the time to get just over 12,000 less baptized.
Not so impressive when one looks at the numbers side-by-side.
so i am trying to understand if i am the only pomo that experiences the situation where the pimi spouse comes back from a meeting a different personanlity.
it may not be obivious to the untrained eye, but i notice it and i know my sons notice it.
this last round after all the loyalty bs and armagedon bs it's like she has stayed stuck in it.
I noticed that in the distant past when I was still married to a PIMI and was starting to make my escape from the hamster wheel. She would be loving, kind, considerate, helpful and all the other things that two people can do to make a marriage pleasant. The minute the last "Amen" at a meeting was said she turned into a cold, distant, non-talking shrew. It usually took two or three days of marital misery before she would lose that attitude. Then it was time for the next meeting and it started all over again. Glad that page of life is done.
my very much in wife commented with no prompting that they have a hierarchy in prayers.
bless the gb, co, elders, pioneers.
if the ill or shutins are mentioned that is all, not so much as a phone call let alone a visit.

That is something that always put me off about the fake humble prayers. It was always, "Jehovah help those who are ill or shut-in to know that we miss them, and we look forward to when we can see them here at the Kingdom Hall again." It was NEVER help US to go SHOW THEM we miss them. Just a phony "Jehovah help them". I guess they salve their conscience, if they have one, by saying those hollow meaningless words, and forget what their Bible says, "Faith WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD."
Yeah, it pisses me off when they flap their gums and do nothing.
the 2019 report is out:.

the “average publisher” figure for individual countries has made a comeback!
A person with a full time job (40 hours per week) would be paid for 2080 hours in a full year. Given the 2,088,560,437 hours the Dubs spent "preaching", and the whopping large 303,866 that got dunked that is only about three and one-third years of forty hour weeks spent getting each person dunked. Who says that there are more productive ways to spend ones time? (Sarcasm)
i was recently told that the average cost to build a new kingdom hall in the united states rural midwest region was $250,000.
i was shocked to say the least.
i remember when my childhood congregation built a new hall in 1989 for $60,000.
In my Congo. we had a guy who was (is) an owner of a construction company. He would always get involved on any Q.B that was happening, even if it was hundreds of miles away, he liked to be the Big Know- Effin- Everything on site.
Yeah, there was one of those where I am located too. He finally went belly-up after embezzling a bunch of money from his business, getting caught several times for tax evasion, and left the area owing thousands of dollars to Witness employees, material providers and others who never got paid. But he did manage to get appointed as an elder in the southern US state where he ran away to.

Wasn't that called Indentured Servitude at one time.
Well the Dubs DO pride themselves on being "slaves".
how much has meeting attendance gone down say the last 10-15 years at khs do you think?
in percentage.
Agreed with the fake counts. BITD we were instructed to count ONLY those who were actually paying attention. Newborns...not counted, sleeping during the meeting...not counted and so on. Now days the attendance figures are artificially inflated by counting every breathing soul.
And still in the area where I was at one time PIMI the attendance has dropped from the high eighties and low nineties at every meeting to normally high twenties to low thirties, and the occasional mid forties, if there are some visitors. I am just waiting for someone that still attends to let me know that this congregation has been merged. Some already have been in the immediate area. From nine congregations in a fifty mile (US) radius less than ten years ago to a current five, along with buildings sold off.
