The org's "new lights" - corrupting Proverbs 4:18
by BoogerMan inproverbs 4:18 says, "but the path of the righteous....grows brighter and brighter until full daylight.".
the bible "light" doesn't get brighter - it never changes - it's a person's direction & course of life which gets brighter.. w11 9/15 p. 14 par.
15 - "when spiritual light on some matter gets brighter, do you try to understand the underlying scriptural reasons for the adjustment?

GB Jeffrey Winder's 1st talk of the 2023 Annual Meeting (entitled: "How The GB Arrive At New Light").
Nu-lite? I am still waiting to see the sun come up some morning and as it does so for the light from it to make several radical changes instead of the day just getting brighter. Brighter light in the morning has not ever, and will never make something change into something completely different as morning progresses.

They said “ it is better to be wrong & inside the Truth than to be “right outside “ it ….
My saying is that there is no wrong way to be right, and no right way to be wrong.

How would you rate the Watchtower approved songs?
by Vanderhoven7 ini was asking why jws won't sing any church hymns even if they were doctrinally correct.
jws asked me in response if i would sing any of their songs.. dan watkins wrote .
its a hilarious misunderstanding, if it does not come from the watchtower bible and tract society, then it is effectively considered as coming from satan.

At least one song is one I like. The JW's did steal their song 58 almost word for word, and note for musical note from a song written by Frances Ridley Havergal titled Take My Life, and Let It Be written in 1874.

Holding a grudge
by LongHairGal ini read something recently on reddit (not sure what thread) where a person related how some jw told them that ‘they hold a grudge’.. this reminded me of something an old jw acquaintance said to me some years back when i related my bad experience in the religion.. so, apparently, jehovah’s witnesses feel they should be forgiven for anything.
people should forget all about it and act like nothing happened and be charitable towards them, etc… when i read in james and ephesians i got the sense ‘holding a grudge’ was referring to the things average people do to offend each other.. i don’t see it applying to a religion that claimed to speak for god and who engendered hateful and unchristian attitudes towards people.. i know because i experienced this.. in addition, some people’s lives were damaged by listening to faulty teachings and interference in things that were clearly none of anybody’s business.. one case in point: them knocking worldly careers and now there are thousands of destitute jws in senior years with nothing.. then in 2023 the religion does away with a century old teaching about counting hours in the ministry.
meanwhile, i got judged over this.

So, apparently, Jehovah’s Witnesses feel they should be forgiven for ANYTHING
Yes, they do. But ONLY if it is someone else who has offended or hurt YOU. Then YOU must forgive them and never hold it against them. On the other hand if it is you who offended or hurt someone (no matter how unintentionally) you then must do everything in your power to grovel, kiss their ass, and do whatever they demand of you to prove that you are not worthy and that for the rest of your life YOU are the one who bears the burden of the "wrong" and they will never let you or anyone else forget what a terrible person they think you are.
Remember, JW's are just like an abusive husband who blames his wife for the beating he just gave her.

july 23, 2024. jehovah's witnesses lose last ditch court case over abuse in care report.
jehovah's witnesses have failed in an eleventh hour attempt to block part of a lengthy report about abuse in care that is about them.. .

No idea what electric, heat, water, money sent off to mom, etc. is.
Not to mention the lack of transparency for the monthly sizable check to Bro. (----- -----) who is also the COBE.

Reddit thread re Oct 2024 WT with picture of window washer - Theme knocking people who Planned
by LongHairGal inthis thread currently has over 300 comments.. it shows a picture of an older man washing a window looking wistfully… then it talks all about how some may have doubts about not having planned and the situation they are in now that they are older, etc.
it refers to others who did plan and who supposedly have ‘apparent’ financial security.
in my opinion, the whole gist of this article is to make older witnesses feel better who did not pursue a career or plan well for retirement.. it tries to imply that those others who planned only have ‘apparent’ financial security - which is to say they don’t (?).

@LHG
You are so right in your comment. WT in their idiotic cherry-picking of scriptures ALWAYS forgets this one: (Proverbs 6:6-11) 6 Go to the ant, you lazy one; see its ways and become wise. 7 Although it has no commander, officer or ruler, 8 it prepares its food even in the summer; it has gathered its food supplies even in the harvest. 9 How long, you lazy one, will you keep lying down? When will you rise up from your sleep? 10 A little more sleep, a little more slumbering, a little more folding of the hands in lying down, 11 and your poverty will certainly come just like some rover, and your want like an armed man.
I see so many who unlike the "ant" and preparing for the future are more like that proverbial lazy one who never thought they would need any financial provisions for their future because they were promised they were never going to get old in this system. I have a newsflash for those morons. Everyone before you got old and died, you will die, and everyone you know will be dead in another hundred years, and if WT is still around they will still be beating the same old drum.
