this might appear as a stupid question but i still find it hard to find my real personality.
often, i try to appear as someone else and the result is that i am shy because i have the fear of the judgement of the other people.
how did you redefined yourself when you got out of the org?.
This question is almost as old as man. Answering this is almost like proving the existence of God.
All I know, is that my biggest period of self-doubt were the years immediately following leaving the org. Listening to people on this forum, it appears to be a common syndrome; something akin to nicotine withdrawal.
I don't think anyone can ever fully answer that question. I think the important thing is to respect and like the person you see in the mirror.

i know that really only i can decide,(unless i get df'd) but to-day i'm in a real quandry.
should i be honest and tell them i'm never going back, because i really have no intention of ever going back.or would that just give the orgaanization some kind of validity.
or , if this is really some kind of 'evil organization' should'nt i officially leave as a matter of urgency.matthew 24:15. i'm really just thinking out loud.
Honesty is the best policy. Get the hell outta there, wave your freak flag high!

i have been on many other boards before and thought i would fly myself over here and see what you have to say.
always nice to find a site that tells the truth about the jehovah's witnesses.
Welcome Luke Skywalker. Hope to have some intelligent (or not) conversations in the future, but what is truth.

the title of an interesting book by ian wilson about the idea that the legend of noah's flood originated from a cataspastric(sic) flooding in pre-recorded times circa 5600 bc when water from meditterean burst through to flood what is now the black sea.. (my bookclub sent me two copies of each book, possibly the result of an administrive error, the other being earthly remains, i did think, should i tip the two extra books into the kh carpark!
) .
interestly it mentions the institue for creation research who the wt quotes from in their evolution/creation book who claim that john morris saw the ark on ararat,(their is a ark shaped structure on a nearby mountain but it is a geological structure that has `slipped'.. the wood that has been found on ararat probably comes from a byzantine hermitage,it has been dated to c. ad400.. lets hope the wt publishes yet more bullshit!
Since I happened to be in the library, I looked up the word cataspastric in lots of dictionarys. I couldn't find it.
Badboy, are you sure this author isn't related to Lewis Carroll.

i keep coming across posts of people who appear to be sympathetic to the jws.
instead of calmly explaining their position, they start spewing obscenities or cursing or harass people they disagree with.. if these people were "christian" or a "loyal jw" they would not do these things.
this leaves me confused.
i've run across the same thing. It seems to me when these people can't answer a question with a reasonable answer they resort to these tactics to deflect the issue. I guess they can justify their rudeness, because non-JW's in their minds are non-people and dont require politeness.

is it true that americans are the least travelled people in the world?
if that is the case, its hardly surprising when you read all the dire warnings contained inside a us passport.
also, i am told that americans regard the rest of the world as a very dangerous place to be.
Expatbrit,
I think you're wrong about different states and provinces. When you're visiting Canada this year try hopping from St. John's Nfld, to Quebec City then try any large city in Ontario. I think you'll find the cultural and linguistic diversity to be as great as neighbouring countries in Europe. As far as our province of Newfoundland goes, they speak English but a lot of people can't understand a word they're saying.

5% head and 95% beer is now the established legal amount of head on a beer in britain.
head or no head?
what do all of our brit apostates think?
The amount of head you want depends on the type of beer you drink, I like 5%-10% when I drink your British beers. Love Guiness, but when drinking a nice, ice-cold Canadian lager; i like as little head as possible.
